I am a clinical counselor and art therapist. I work within eclectic style to engage the client in an empathic and authentic way. I assist in helping the client find solutions that will work for them, and that they feel comfortable doing. Together, we try to heal the client and give them the tools to reduce depression centered around their past and the stress of the now and reduce anxiety of the future.
In the first session, we will work together to identify goals that are attainable and what you want to accomplish first. Sometimes, once we get started what you think is the big issue is only the symptom flaring off to hide the latent or hidden issue. We begin by unraveling each session what we learned in the last visit and how it presented itself in the time between sessions.
I am in tune with my clients. I am able to align well with the client and work at their pace to identify stressors and traumas that may be affecting their current outlook.
I work very well with people who have suffered a large grief or abuse situation and need to find joy and healing. I work very well with Narcissistic abuse victims or abusive relationships, including workplace bullying.

I have been seeing Paula for about 6 months now. She has a very direct, no-nonsense approach which has helped me tremendously along my journey. She has a real skill for helping reshape negative or unproductive thoughts in a way that feels both grounded and empowering. Her insights often stayed with me long after sessions ended. I would absolutely recommend her to others looking for practical, supportive and results-oriented therapy.
I am a licensed clinical counselor, however, I am also a licensed art therapist. Art, even in a doodle form will assist in unlocking traumatic memories and processing them and emotions tied to them.
Internal Family Systems is used on order to understand the Self and how the client uses both maladaptive and adaptive coping skills to survive trauma.
We will work together to learn why humans do what they do, and how to look at a situation from different perspectives that are assisted by new knowledge learned in the session.
