I am the mother to 2 grown children and a grandmother. I was married for over 40 years prior to my husband passing, I now share my house with a Golden Retriever. I went back to school later in life, and like to encourage others to do the same if possible. My first experience in this field came when I got a job at a county mental health/developmental services program as a receptionist. I was motivated by all the great work that the caseworkers were doing to improve their clients lives. I went back to school to finish my Bachelors and finally received a Masters in Social work. I retired from the county program as a Casework Supervisor, I felt that my position was becoming more administrative, and I was missing the connections I had made with my clients. At that time I felt it was time to work on what my original goal was which was to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I did work for 5 years with children with behavioral issues in school and in their homes. My previous position was in a small practice in rural PA, where I learned the importance of being eclectic in my treatment approach because every clent and their situation is different , and they deserve to have a treatment plan specifically targeted to their situation

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I hold a Master's degree in Community and Trauma Counseling from Thomas Jefferson University and am a Certified National Counselor (NCC). My professional experience spans from private practice to mental health outpatient settings, and, for the past two years, working in an inpatient substance use treatment facility, where I specialized in supporting individuals facing both mental health and substance use challenges. As a former Division 1 athlete and high school coach, I have a strong passion for working with athletes, helping them navigate the unique mental and emotional aspects of their athletic careers. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy playing sports, taking walks, spending quality time with family and friends, and learning new things.

Hey there- my name is Lori and I love to listen and help people feel more hopeful about life. Life can get overwhelming and I think we have all experienced days where we feel like we are drowning. My goal is to grab your hand and help stop you from going under- I want to help you feel heard, understood and empowered to change your life. I will help you understand yourself better, deal with stress, navigate relationships and be happier. Life is too short not to find our way to happiness and if no one told you today- you deserve to be happy. It’s never too late to change, to learn, to grow, to be who you were meant to be. It’s never too late to figure out what makes you happy and go after it. Thoreau said “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation”- don’t be resigned to that.

I grew up in Eastern Europe and moved to the USA as an adult. I speak Russian, Ukranian, and English languages. I had to learn a whole new way of living, face my fears, and overcome many barriers and understand how important communication is in building trust and understanding. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with many different people. I've counseled older adults, LGBTQ+, immigrants and refugees from all over the world. I believe in creating a warm and welcoming space where you can feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings, and I am here to help you feel understood and valued.

Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take Independence Keystone 65 HMO?

Yes! If you use Independence Keystone 65 HMO you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Independence Keystone 65 HMO you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
