New to Grow
I believe in client centered therapy, having worked with clients with a variety of backgrounds and needs, I know how everyone can benefit from a supportive and empowering environment. I believe therapy works best when we find the right balance between exploring our histories and helping you get through the now. Everyone's balance may look a little different, but we can work together to help you find it.
I like to let you take the lead the first session, offering questions as needed to make sure we learn a little bit of everything to get a solid foundation started. The first session tends to be a little all over the place, but in a way that I believe is ultimately helpful for focusing in down the line. I look forward to hearing from you and hearing what you think is most important, the paperwork doesn't always do that justice.
While CBT is my primary therapeutic lens, I believe in being flexible and shaping to your needs. I want you to feel comfortable to do deep emotional processing one week, but complain about work the next. It is all important and it is all connected to your overall wellbeing. My goal is to balance flexibility to your wants and needs with accountability to your goals and wellbeing.
I enjoy helping clients get to know themselves, including exploring their identity, wants, needs, and goals. We can explore relationships, career aspirations, self-esteem and identity. I do my best to fit your therapy to your needs, pulling from all kinds of clinical treatment lenses to best serve you. I want to empower you to feel in charge of where therapy takes you and I will give you the tools and support to get there. Our needs are always changing and I stay flexible accordingly.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Using CBT techniques, I can help clients explore thought patterns and how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another and impact one's mental health and wellbeing. We will build an understanding of these patterns to empower you to make changes in how you talk to yourself and improve your relationship with your brain and body.
