In my work I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). I'm Trish — a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, and the kind of stuck feeling that can seem impossible to explain to someone who hasn't lived it. My background is deep in complex, high-stakes mental health work, and I bring that clinical grounding into a private practice setting that feels nothing like a clinical office. I work with adults who are genuinely ready to understand themselves better and make real changes. If you're looking for someone who will listen carefully and also tell you the truth, you're in the right place. I also accept several major insurance plans, so therapy doesn't have to mean a full out-of-pocket commitment.

Hi, I’m Lynn Hakin. I bring an easygoing, down-to-earth personality paired with an honest, straightforward approach to my therapy practice. A proud double alumna of Lock Haven University, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2019 and returned to earn my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023. Since entering the mental health field in 2019, I’ve gained deep, diverse experience—navigating inpatient hospital care, substance abuse treatment centers, and community mental health within a prison setting. This journey has shaped the advocate I am today. My style is warm, curious, engaged, and down-to-earth. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently and occasionally asks, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll be right there with you—asking questions, noticing patterns, offering perspective, and sometimes bringing humor into the room when it feels right. I work especially well with thoughtful, self-aware people who have done a lot of thinking about themselves but still find themselves caught in patterns they can’t quite think their way out of. You may be successful and capable on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship patterns, or a persistent sense that something is missing. I also work with people who feel disconnected—from their emotions, their relationships, or even themselves. Sometimes that disconnection developed for very good reasons. If you learned early in life to stay in control, rely on yourself, push feelings aside, or keep others at a distance, those strategies may have helped you survive difficult experiences but now leave you feeling stuck or alone. My approach is grounded largely in Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, mindfulness, and somatic work. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” we get curious about what happened, what you learned to do to survive or belong, and what different parts of you may still be trying to protect. Our work is about more than understanding yourself. It’s about experiencing yourself differently—with more compassion, more choice, deeper connection, and less internal noise.

If you’re here it’s likely because you find yourself struggling. Perhaps you’re in the midst of a transition - a new job, a new city, graduating college, the end of a relationship, or the loss of a loved one. You’re not sure how to navigate the situation and the feelings associated with it are intense. Maybe you’re like the estimated 21 million U.S. adults living with depression. You can’t find any motivation. You're staying in more instead of meeting up with friends. You’re crying for no apparent reason. Maybe you’re like the estimated 42.5 million U.S. adults who live with anxiety. You can’t find rest. You don't feel safe. Your thoughts race and you feel on edge all the time. I'm here to walk with you. In our work together we will navigate immediate challenges while also finding new insights and a deeper self-awareness that will help you develop a healthier relationship with yourself and others. I often draw from Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and most prominently from a Psychodynamic approach to guide you through this process of change. Whether you're new to therapy or have had past experiences it is my hope that our work together will offer you new perceptions that can be used for change and help you feel more comfortable with you.

I have worked for many years as a counselor and therapist. I believe that everyone has a story; and every story should be valued and deeply understood. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families unpack their stories and move toward healing from individual hurts and broken relationships. I named my practice Strength for Living because the journey sometimes gets too difficult to manage alone; we sometimes need help to find strength to keep moving forward. I use a variety of treatments to meet clients where they are, and help them move toward hope and recovery. Trauma-informed, evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and emotionally focused therapy can help you take a deeper look at your experiences and the patterns that interrupt your relationships with others. Taking a deep look at your own painful experiences can be hard work! Digging into your thoughts and feelings can be scary. It can also be your first step toward healing and restoration. If you are suffering, don't continue to suffer alone. Strength for Living is here to offer a safe place to begin your journey toward healing.

My name is Evan Miller and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist in the state of Pennsylvania. The goal of therapy is to facilitate personal growth and help you improve your life. Whether you're looking to build self-awareness, strengthen your relationships, change your unwanted habits, better manage your stress or just feel better emotionally - I am here to help! I consider the therapeutic relationship to be fundamental to all forms of good therapy, so I continually strive to create an environment that is supportive, safe, authentic, comfortable and non-judgmental. While I have specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (M.I.) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, I utilize a person-centered and integrative approach that also incorporates elements of attachment theory, existential-humanistic theory and harm reduction philosophy.

I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years now. I started off as a wraparound working with children who have emotional, behavioral, and social problems in the home, school, and community. I worked in an autism support classroom in an elementary school for a few years. I have worked primarily in residential settings since then, graduating with my masters in Clinical Mental health Counseling in 2020. I recently attained my state license and was able to start my outpatient practice. I have experience working with people of varying ages and concerns. I am most familiar with personality disorders, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders and have built a plethora of skills, knowledge, and resources to help target these concerns. I have always been friends with the people who need one and my goal throughout life has always been to help improve the quality of life for those around me. Hello! Welcome to my site, my name is Ryan Brooks Leslie, licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist. I'm glad you found me here. There are few situations in life which are comparable to being in therapy; A helping relationship based on mutual respect, honesty, humility, educated/objective guidance, and genuine connection, in order for you to better navigate this thing we call "life". Being able to say anything, without fear of judgment, reproach, or rejection can allow you to truly face the obstacles that separate you from happiness and freedom; to be the best and most fulfilled version of yourself. I have spent the better part of 18 years educating myself and honing my counseling skills to people in this endeavor, and I must say I love being a therapist and have great confidence in my therapeutic skills and their benefit to you. I am experienced in addictions, trauma (EMDR- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, improving social skills, existential life issues and transitions. I have found that it is often a combination of forces within and without of ourselves that create our unique situations that we need help with. While I have many methods to facilitate processing (talking, art therapy, mindfulness, EMDR), I believe that you are the expert of your unique story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming the challenges of your life. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I commend you for your effort and I am here to support, empower and be a fellow traveler on your journey. "The most powerful thing in the world, is an idea whose time has come"- Victor Hugo

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who centers my practice around working with adolescents and young adults who wish to address self-exploration and identity development, navigation of conflict in relationships, and the impact of trauma on current life experiences. I find it important to ground our therapy in trust, then we can begin to explore your emotional experience as a way to understand how you navigate your present. I have spent nearly a decade centering my practice around working with young people and building resilience around what life has thrown their way. Through Talk Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, we have addressed ways to process and heal from trauma and loss. Through using elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we have addressed addictive behaviors ranging from toxic relationships to substance use. Through my relational approach, I have watched my clients accept the challenges they need to face and accept aspects of who they are that don't need to change at all. I integrate the intersection of therapeutic work and social justice work whenever possible, ensuring that our work is contextualized within and in opposition to the oppressive systems that govern our society. Additionally, as a school social worker, I am also able to assist with any school-based concerns you may be experiencing.

Over time, my clinical focus has naturally evolved towards specializing in personality disorders and becoming a certified sex and relationship therapist. Known for my transparency, empathy, and a healthy dose of humor, I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and supported. I also enjoy sharing my insights as a contributing author on sex and relationship issues for various online and print publications. Passionate about the importance of self-care, I love to unwind by hiking and camping in the mountains, soaking up the serenity of the ocean, and cherishing time with my family and friends. Despite having three amazing kids, I am (almost) equally obsessed with being a pet mom to my heavyweight feline companion, Perry, and my loveable, always-happy golden retriever, Murphy.

Hello! I'm a Pennsylvania-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker and yoga teacher who treats anxiety, depression and trauma. I combine EMDR, somatic therapy and strength based talk therapy to help clients connect with their whole selves and live their lives more authentically. As we work together, clients become more self aware, reduce the impact of old wounds, and clear space for new patterns of thought, feeling and action. This process helps them move more freely towards the future they desire.

As a holistic therapist, I believe real change happens when you feel understood, supported, and given practical tools that fit your life. I’m down-to-earth, collaborative, and genuinely curious about what makes you *you*. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to the life you want—one step at a time. I am not a "blank slate" therapist and will both feel with you and for you when you are in a tough situation. While I consider myself a safe and nonjudgmental person, I will challenge you once we have built a relationship to ensure you are focused on your growth.

Hi, I'm Angela, a licensed therapist in Pennsylvania who helps women feel like themselves again when life transitions, relationships, work, or major changes leave them feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected from who they are. I specialize in supporting women and people whose experiences are shaped by womanhood as they navigate life's transitions, changing relationships, career challenges, and shifts in identity. My practice is intended to be an affirming and supportive space for clients seeking care centered on these experiences. Having navigated difficult seasons and life transitions of my own, I understand that healing and change are not simply things we learn about—they are experiences we live through. My professional training and clinical experience guide my work, while my own life experiences have deepened my understanding of how change can challenge our sense of identity, test our resilience, and require us to find our way forward in unexpected ways.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Pennsylvania. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in Pennsylvania that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
