Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in the same patterns? You don’t have to navigate it alone. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 25 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and families create healthier relationships, manage anxiety, and build emotional resilience. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Ecosystemic Family Structural Therapy (EFST) to help clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify negative or recurring thought patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, or emotional challenges, and develop practical tools to create lasting change. Whether your child is struggling emotionally, your teen feels overwhelmed, or your family is facing challenges in communication or connection, therapy can provide support, clarity, and effective strategies for growth and healing. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward with confidence. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but meaningful change is possible. I look forward to supporting you and your family on that journey.

I have always felt a deep connection to Human Services since the day my siblings came to me for advice on whatever problems they had. That personal experience fueled my pursuit of a career in counseling and therapy. My credentials include a Master's in Human Services, licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, National Certified Counselor certification, a Bachelor of Metaphysical Science, and Ph.D. candidate with an emphasis on relationship dynamics. For over 40 years, I have been blessed with opportunities to serve as a clinician across diverse settings, including Child Welfare, Criminal Justice, Education, the Corporate Sector, and Military Family Life (all branches). I pride myself in being an instrument that provides a genuine, safe space for clients to embrace who they are while welcoming change, operating with the core belief that “everything starts and ends with the individual". Hi, I’m Angela, a licensed clinical social worker who’s all about creating a space where you can just be real. Life gets heavy sometimes, and whether you're feeling anxious, burned out, stuck in a relationship pattern, or weighed down by past experiences, I’m here to help you sort through it without judgment. How much of your life is spent waiting to feel confident enough to live it? I’m Fred, a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults struggling with anxiety, addiction, relationship difficulties, and major life stress. My practice is direct, collaborative, and practical. I draw primarily from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based approaches. A lot of people come to therapy believing they need more confidence, more clarity, or more certainty before they can move forward. Often, confidence is built differently: by learning to act, adapt, and make meaningful decisions even while doubt, anxiety, and difficult emotions are still present. Together, we’ll work on changing the patterns that keep you stuck and building the flexibility and confidence to move toward the life you want.

Hi, I’m Dr. Catherine T. Revak, DSW, LCSW—but please, call me Cate. My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t a traditional one, and each chapter of my life has shaped how I show up for clients today. I served in the United States Air Force and spent many years in the financial services industry, experiences that taught me how to navigate complexity, hold difficult conversations, and remain present during times of stress and uncertainty. Later, I returned to school at the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, and completed both my master’s and doctoral degrees in social work. My clinical training focused on veterans’ mental health, grief, loss, and bereavement. My time working at the VA and in hospice care deeply influenced my approach to therapy, reinforcing the importance of compassion, attunement, and the healing power of being truly witnessed. In therapy, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported. I draw from psychodynamic, narrative, and trauma-informed approaches, but at the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself. Whether you are navigating grief, transition, or uncertainty, I walk alongside you as you find meaning, connection, and a way forward that honors your experience.

My work integrates evidence-based practices—including CBT and mindfulness-based strategies—with thoughtful insight to help clients move out of survival mode and into greater self-trust and stability. I believe therapy should be both practical and transformative. Our sessions are a space to slow down, untangle patterns, and build tools that create meaningful change in your everyday life. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, or relationship challenges, we’ll work collaboratively to understand what’s shaped your story and develop new ways of responding with clarity and confidence. Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and direct. I bring compassion and humor into the room while also offering honest feedback and actionable strategies. You can expect to feel supported — and gently challenged — in ways that foster growth. All behavior is purposeful. This means that we never do anything for no reason. Even when our behavior appears confusing or counterproductive to our values, our behavior has meaning and purpose. Therapy is a setting where we can gain insight about the origins of our perceptions, thinking and behavior. With clearer understanding, we are better equipped to identify factors within our control and consider alternative responses to our conditions. We gain awareness of the needs that are being met by potentially self-defeating thinking or behaviors and have a special opportunity to practice new thinking in the safety of therapy.

With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about supporting adults and couples as they navigate life’s transitions and pursue meaningful growth. Whether you are a college student or recent graduate adjusting to a new season of life, an individual facing anxiety or depression, or a couple preparing for marriage or working to strengthen your relationship, I strive to provide guidance that feels both supportive and practical. My Christian faith shapes my personal values; however, I work with people from all backgrounds and beliefs. Faith-based perspectives are incorporated into counseling only if a client specifically desires it. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Life transitions—whether expected or unexpected—can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing and work toward the emotional and personal goals that matter most to you. I have experience working with adults experiencing life changes, including college and post-college transitions, relationship challenges, marriage and premarital preparation, and parenting. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and stress that often accompany these seasons of change. My background as a behavioral specialist in community mental health allows me to effectively support adults diagnosed with ADHD or autism spectrum disorder, as well as parents raising children with these diagnoses. In my work with couples, I draw from my experience as a trained Prepare/Enrich facilitator to help partners strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and build healthier, more connected relationships. When working with individuals, I primarily use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My focus is on equipping you with practical tools and strategies so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.

Hi! I am Clarissa Hummel Clare, LPC. After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I had the opportunity to work in multiple community settings as a caseworker. Through this work, I realized my desire to be able to work with people in reaching personal goals through talk therapy. I graduated from Villanova University with a master’s in counseling and human services. Upon graduation, I worked in schools, community centers and private practices gaining knowledge of different therapeutic approaches to better assist in the helping field. I look forward to continuing to help people reach desired goals while providing a safe and judgement free environment to encourage open and authentic communication with one another.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Pennsylvania. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Yes! If you use UnitedHealthcare Complete Care (C-SNP) you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have UnitedHealthcare Complete Care (C-SNP) you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
