(she/her)
Hi! I am Clarissa Hummel Clare, LPC. After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I had the opportunity to work in multiple community settings as a caseworker. Through this work, I realized my desire to be able to work with people in reaching personal goals through talk therapy. I graduated from Villanova University with a master’s in counseling and human services. Upon graduation, I worked in schools, community centers and private practices gaining knowledge of different therapeutic approaches to better assist in the helping field. I look forward to continuing to help people reach desired goals while providing a safe and judgement free environment to encourage open and authentic communication with one another.
During our initial meeting, I will begin to gather information about your background and what brought you to therapy, including current challenges and personal goals. We will work building rapport and a therapeutic relationship. I will review paperwork, explain confidentiality and treatment goals. It is encouraged for you to share what you are comfortable with and ask questions throughout the session. It is normal to feel a range of emotions, including nervousness.
My strengths include being able to provide a safe and trusting environment to create rapport with clients. I offer genuine, empathetic, interactive listening for clients to be able to work towards self regulation and learn effective coping strategies.
I work well with clients age 13 and up looking for someone to provide a caring and empathetic environment which promotes growth. Clients looking for support in working towards understanding unhealthy patterns and boundaries within their lives while better understanding themselves through empowerment would be a good fit.
