Hello and welcome. I’m Beth, a licensed clinical social worker. I believe that life can be overwhelming, and we may need extra support at times to navigate it. My goal is to provide a supportive and safe place for people to work toward personal goals and improve their overall wellbeing. My approach is person-centered and strength based so your goals and strengths are highlighted in our work together. I strive to help individuals feel safe to explore the difficulties they may be experiencing regarding issues such as anxiety, depression, and coping skills. I utilize a warm, nonjudgmental, collaborative approach to provide support while exploring these difficulties. I am a compassionate therapist who is dedicated to supporting individuals with care and respect. Whether you are navigating a new season of life, feeling stuck, or looking for better balance, therapy can be a space to support you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Together we will get to know each other, discuss your concerns, and explore your personal goals for therapy. I will ask questions and listen to better understand you. From there we work together to build a plan to move towards your goals at a pace you are comfortable with.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My biggest strengths are using a nonjudgemental approach and listening to ensure individuals have a safe place to process and share. I provide warmth and compassion to my clients and collaborate with them to improve their daily life. I use a variety of therapeutic strategies geared to each individual to help them meet and overcome challenges they face.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults facing life transitions, anxiety, and stress. Anxiety and stress are feelings that everyone experiences, but when they get in the way of daily life it is important to address them. Together we build coping skills and strategies to address concerns and improve your daily life. I have completed training with Postpartum Support International to treat perinatal mood disorders. This allows me to better support the unique challenges that individuals face during this life stage. Some of these challenges include life adjustments, anxiety, and complex feelings surrounding the postpartum time period.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized CBT interventions with individuals throughout the last 9 years. These interventions have helped clients challenge unhelpful thinking patterns that get in the way of daily life. We use CBT strategies to identify how thoughts can impact your feelings and behaviors in different ways. We can utilize the power of thoughts to help change thinking patterns, feelings, and behaviors to decrease daily anxiety and stress.
Eclectic
I utilize an eclectic approach with clients. This allows me to provide support for a variety of challenges in a way that fits you the best. I use an eclectic approach to be client centered and strength based. I focus on tailoring our work to you in order to build on your strengths and help you reach your personal goals. Using a variety of strategies can help build coping skills to address all the challenges that may pop up in life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness can be an important tool to support regulating our emotions. It can also help individuals struggling with anxiety or low self esteem by encouraging them to acknowledge their feelings without passing judgment on themselves. Mindfulness strategies can also be learned to build coping skills to use in different situations.
