Hi! I'm Steph! I have been a therapist for six years after receiving my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hill University in 2020. I have a strong passion for helping clients create meaningful change in their lives. My experience in community mental health has allowed me to support clients working through addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-worth, and major life transitions. I understand that these challenges can feel heavy, overwhelming, and isolating, and I strive to provide a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to better understand themselves, build healthier coping skills, and move toward healing and growth. In therapy, I help clients explore what may be keeping them stuck, identify their strengths, and create realistic steps toward lasting change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and compassionate, with a focus on helping clients feel more confident, grounded, and in control of their lives. Outside of my work, I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband and our dog, Lulu. I bring care, curiosity, and empathy into my practice, and I am honored to walk alongside clients as they work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. If you are ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honored to support you. Please reach out today to schedule a session or learn more about working together.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is focused on getting to know each other and beginning to build a safe, supportive, and trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe the therapy relationship is an important place where we can begin practicing new ways of communicating, coping, and creating change. During this session, I will ask questions to learn more about you, your experiences, and what brought you to therapy. We will move at your pace, and you are always welcome to share only what feels comfortable. If there is something you are not ready to talk about yet, that is completely okay. I also welcome your questions about me, my approach, and my therapy style so we can make sure working together feels like a good fit. We will begin identifying your goals, as well as the strengths you already have that can help us work toward those goals together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I share my honest feedback about observations in relational and behavioral patterns with warmth and create space for reflection and discussion.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are people who are motivated and ready to make meaningful changes in their lives. I enjoy working with clients who want support in managing anxiety, addiction, trauma, perfectionism, and major life transitions. These clients may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps, but they are open to learning new skills, exploring their experiences, and working toward healing and growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients increase awareness to their thought patterns, explore their emotions deeper, and learn more about their behaviors. With this knowledge, clients will be able to reframe their thoughts, manage their emotions, and create change in their patterns of behavior in their daily life and within their relationships.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach I use to help clients process upsetting memories, reduce emotional distress, and build healthier beliefs about themselves. During EMDR, I guide clients through structured steps while using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to help the brain reprocess difficult experiences in a safe and supportive way. This can help clients feel less overwhelmed by the past and more grounded in the present.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling is a therapy approach I use to help partners improve communication, rebuild trust, and better understand each other’s needs. In sessions, I provide a safe and supportive space where both people can share their feelings, work through conflict, and learn healthier ways to connect. Together, we explore patterns in the relationship, practice problem-solving skills, and focus on building respect, empathy, and emotional closeness. This can help couples feel more supported, understood, and connected in their relationship.

Feminist

Feminist therapy is a counseling approach I use to help clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. In sessions, I work with clients to explore how their personal experiences may be affected by relationships, culture, gender roles, power, and social expectations. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, confidence, and personal choice. This approach helps clients recognize their strengths, challenge limiting beliefs, and create changes that support their well-being and sense of identity.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is an approach I use to help clients feel safe, respected, and supported throughout therapy. In sessions, I focus on understanding how past experiences may affect a client’s emotions, relationships, and daily life. I work at the client’s pace, offer choice, and build trust through compassion and collaboration. This approach helps clients feel more empowered, reduce shame, and develop healthier ways to cope, heal, and move forward.
