Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical. I offer a supportive, down-to-earth space where you can show up exactly as you are — no pressure, no judgment. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply ready for change, we’ll work together to better understand what’s going on and identify practical steps forward. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation, balanced with tools and strategies that you can actually use in daily life. Together, we’ll explore patterns, build coping skills, and strengthen your ability to navigate challenges with confidence. Seeking support is a courageous step, and you don’t have to figure things out alone. My goal is to help you gain clarity, develop resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My name is Janet Muta and I am a Licensed Clinician with over 17 years of experience in mental health, behavioral issues and relationships. I treat individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is treating the whole person because most of the time our problems are the outcome of more than just one thing and when I get to know you I am able to address different issues that could be contributing to that one specific problem. We all experience some difficulties in our lives sometimes and we all cope differently. What works for one person/couple who are experiencing a similar situation may not work for another and so I personalize your treatment to fit you. Being in therapy is like being on a journey, I make sure you are in the driver’s seat and I become your great working GPS, guiding you to your desired destination. I also hold a degree in finance which sometimes comes handy when helping those who are stressed due to financial needs. Among the treatment modalities I use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Parenting, Contingency Management...

Hi there, I am Jen. Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Do you want to make long-lasting changes that improve areas of your life such as work and relationships? I empower clients to overcome the daily challenges of dealing with such issues as depression (or other mood disorders), anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, and grief. I'm here to help clients (ages 10 & up) get back to a place in their life where they feel more balanced, secure and to a place where they feel happy with their overall quality of life. I do believe in a holistic approach that focuses on the mind-body-spirit connection. I utilize various techniques that include mindfulness, helping you identify and address irrational thoughts, motivational interviewing and more. I work with clients to identify treatment goals at their 1st appointment, if possible and I also like to assign therapeutic "homework" since this helps clients practice and eventually acquire the skills they need to feel better about themselves and their lives. No matter the issue, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy is a brave thing to do and I will provide a safe space to help you heal and grow. In our sessions, I will provide empathy, active listening and humor to help you overcome what is troubling you. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Traumatic experiences are, unfortunately, far more common than many people realize—and their impact can linger in ways that affect how we think, feel, and relate to others. For 16 years I have specialized in helping individuals process and heal from various types of trauma, including interpersonal violence and sexual assault, childhood abuse, and religious trauma. I also provide support for those caring for loved ones with complex medical needs, recognizing the unique form of secondary trauma, chronic stress, and emotional exhaustion that caregiving can bring. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in trauma-informed therapy. I incorporate practical tools for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and building resilience, while always honoring your pace and your story. You can expect a space where you are believed, respected, and supported. Healing is possible. Whether you are working through past trauma, navigating the challenges of caregiving, or trying to rebuild trust and stability, there is hope. I would be honored to walk alongside you- not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and move toward relief.

I’m a licensed therapist who supports women who have spent most of their lives being the strong one, the responsible one, and the over-functioner for everyone else. Many of the women I work with grew up emotionally neglected or learned early on that their value came from how much they could carry. I help them reconnect with themselves, feel grounded again, and build a sense of identity and worthiness that isn’t tied to performance, achievement, or constantly being “the strong one.”

Hello, and welcome. I am Dr. Samuel Hickson, PhD, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist, neuropsychotherapist, clinical researcher, educator, and healthcare consultant dedicated to providing evidence-based psychotherapy for adults. My practice is built on the belief that healing begins with understanding ourselves, rebuilding trust, and developing the resilience needed to navigate life's challenges with confidence and purpose. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, healthcare-related stress, identity transitions, chronic illness adjustment, grief, and major life changes. My therapeutic approach integrates neuropsychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and strengths-based practices to create individualized treatment plans that are both compassionate and grounded in scientific research. My professional background extends beyond traditional psychotherapy. With over 14 years of healthcare experience, a PhD in Human Behavior, an MBA focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, and extensive work in clinical research and behavioral health, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective that bridges neuroscience, psychology, healthcare systems, and organizational well-being. This allows me to understand not only the emotional challenges my clients face but also the broader healthcare, workplace, and life circumstances that influence mental health. In addition to psychotherapy, I provide professional consultation in risk management, clinical documentation, quality improvement, standards of care, and behavioral health operations for healthcare organizations and private practices. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult transition or looking to strengthen resilience and reconnect with your values, my goal is to provide a collaborative, respectful, and affirming therapeutic environment where meaningful, lasting change can occur. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you on your journey toward growth, healing, and living a more fulfilling life.

I’m a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, chronic stress, and health-related concerns. My approach is warm, compassionate, and integrative. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted—not judged or placed into a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. I draw from psychodynamic, relational, cognitive, solution-focused, and coaching approaches, as well as my background in health coaching and nervous-system regulation. Rather than relying on one particular method, I tailor our work to you: your personality, your history, your goals, and what you need at this point in your life. I’m especially interested in helping people understand the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while also developing practical tools for creating meaningful change. My goal is not simply to help you “fix” a problem, but to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, feel more emotionally grounded, and create a life and relationships that feel more aligned with who you are. For clients working with me in person, I may also incorporate neurofeedback or BAUD (Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device) therapy when appropriate. These brain-based approaches can complement traditional talk therapy and may be helpful for nervous-system regulation, anxiety, and reducing the emotional intensity associated with difficult or traumatic memories. I see these tools as another way to support the therapeutic process—not a replacement for the relationship and deeper work that happens in therapy.

On the outside, it may look like you're managing everything. On the inside, you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or surrounded by people but still feel completely alone. If you're reading this and thinking, "This sounds like me," you're exactly who I hoped to reach. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. While those experiences may bring you to therapy, I believe our struggles don't happen in isolation. They often develop within the context of our relationships, experiences, and the roles we've learned to play. Together, we'll become curious about those patterns, question the expectations you've learned to carry, and decide which roles still fit the life you're trying to build and which you've outgrown. Therapy can be a place to set some of that weight down and reconnect with yourself. It can be life changing to give yourself permission not to fit neatly into predefined boxes.

I want you to take a moment to acknowledge that you’ve already taken the first step toward bettering your mental health. Let’s be honest — starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even scary — sometimes all at once. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore concerns related to anxiety, depression, and self-care. I focus on helping clients build assertive communication skills and healthy boundaries, both with themselves and with others, in ways that support a more balanced, fulfilling life. Therapy is an opportunity for personal growth in whatever way you're seeking — whether that means navigating specific challenges or building the life you deeply deserve. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m here when you’re ready. Together, we’ll clarify the challenges you’re facing and identify where you want to be — a month, six months, or a year from now. Then, we’ll explore actionable strategies to help you move forward. You'll leave each session with a clearer understanding of your situation and a set of “next steps” you can begin right away. There will always be space for feedback and collaboration in our work — including holding each other accountable as we walk this path together.

Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns. To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress. My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki. Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating—especially if you’ve spent a long time being the strong one, the helper, or the person who holds everything together. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting stress, caregiver fatigue, and trauma, including sexual trauma. I provide trauma-informed therapy in a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and respected. Together, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while building insight, practical coping tools, and confidence. These times are urgent. Let us slow down.” ― Bayo Akomolafe Let's take things one breath at a time, slowing down instead of rushing through the hard parts. I don’t believe in fixing or solving everything all at once in the hopes it does not reoccur. Instead, I offer space for curiosity, vulnerability, and connection, because that’s often where healing begins. Together we’ll practice being with your experiences, not just getting past them. I work with people facing all kinds of mental health and personal life challenges, and I especially love helping clients untangle old patterns and build new ones that feel more like them. My approach is relational and HUMOROUS, humanistic, honest, warm, and collaborative. I work mostly with teens and adults. Outside of therapy, I’m usually testing a new hairstyle, thrifting, listening to Afrobeats, or walking my dachshund, Winston-Bishop.

My name is Jessica Scales and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC # 10501) in North Carolina. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have been counseling for over 13 years, with children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 18-30) being my specialty areas. I enjoy helping younger children make sense of the world around them and figure out how to navigate the big emotions they experience daily. With adolescents, I feel it is important to make them feel heard and have a safe space to process past or present trauma, peer-related issues, family stressors, and personal changes and emotions. For young adults, it is important for them to have a safe space to explore life transitions and the emotional and mental stressors or effects that may accompany these changes. I believe in working with each individual in a holistic way, considering all areas of their lives: emotional, physical, spiritual, familial support, personal, environmental, financial, and social. I utilize interventions based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing while incorporating play-based care, faith-based care, and Expressive Arts techniques. The counseling space is the space for individuals to feel safe, heard, and able to process any life circumstances, big or small, without judgment and with unconditional positive regard. I intend to create this safe space for healing and each individual's counseling journey.
