If you are looking for a therapist that says more than “and how does that make you feel”- Keep reading. My approach is laid back, I work hard to help my clients gain my trust, and I believe in actively listening to my clients. However, our sessions are interactive and collaborative because we work together to achieve goals. This process isn’t about “telling all of your business to a stranger”, its about healing
Hello, are you ready to heal yourself emotionally and mentally? I’m Jimiko, a Licensed Clinical Therapist in NC and SC, owner of Emotional Healing & Recovery, LLC. Let's face it, life is hard and living in a toxic culture doesn't make it any easier. Talking and getting things out works wonders for your physical and mental health. Why suppress feelings and emotions when you can learn to work through them? I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. You are not alone in this crazy world so let's talk!
Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns.
To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress.
My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki.
Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.

My path to becoming a mental health provider has been deeply influenced by both my personal background and my professional experiences. I was always drawn to the idea of helping others navigate difficult circumstances and providing support during times of crisis or transition. Her work shaped my understanding of the value of compassion, empathy, and practical intervention in improving lives.
As a licensed therapist, I specialize in helping individuals manage the emotional, psychological, and practical aspects of these life adjustments.

I encourage my clients to do the things that they've never done in order to experience the life they've always wanted. I help them identify the source of what has limited them and caused them emotional pain, whether it be from anxiety or depression stemming from childhood trauma, broken relationships, toxic work environment, sexuality, aging, or religious trauma to name a few.

Together, we'll explore your experiences, develop practical tools, and identify meaningful changes that align with the life you want to live.
I work with older adolescents (16+), and adults from diverse backgrounds, having supported individuals across outpatient, community-based, and inpatient behavioral healthcare settings. While I welcome clients of all genders, I'm intentionally building a specialty in helping men navigate the unique pressures of masculinity, relationships, fatherhood, identity, burnout, and life transitions. My experience working across a variety of behavioral healthcare settings has also given me firsthand insight into the unique challenges faced by healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, therapists, paramedics, EMTs, and other emergency responders. I understand the realities of chronic stress, secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, burnout, and the emotional weight that often comes with caring for others.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, appropriately challenged, and supported. We'll move at a pace that reflects your individual needs while working toward greater clarity, healing, and lasting growth.

Hello! My name is Mikenzie Mckimmie, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina. Over the past few years, I have been providing therapy, building on more than nine years of experience in supporting individuals and families through crisis and trauma. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, client centered care. I specialize in trauma-informed care with a center in my practice of cognitive behavioral therapy. My approach focuses on creating a safe, nonjudgmental place where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experience while developing practical tools for growth, healing and resilience.
I have several years of experience treating individuals, families, and adolescents using a holistic, empathic, and trauma-informed approach. Watching friends and family struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues fueled my passion for helping those who struggle with these difficulties from a place of understanding, patience, and empathy. I received a BA in psychology first, which led to obtaining a substance abuse certificate. I gained experience working with families and individuals and, after some time, I was ready to further my education and obtained a Master of Social Work. This helped me expand my clinical skills and learn more targeted therapy modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, psychoanalytical care, and art therapy. I found these approaches are a great synthesis of neuroscience, trauma, and creativity.
I'm a laid-back, compassionate therapist who takes the time to really get to know you, your story, values, and what feels important right now. I create a space where you can talk openly without judgment, and we move at your pace. Whether you're facing life changes or seeking emotional resilience, I provide a safe space and practical tools to foster growth, clarity, and lasting well-being. Taking the first step toward gaining support can feel daunting, but you’re not alone. Together, we can explore ways to build resilience and gain clarity, helping you move forward with confidence.
