"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story" - Orson Welles. To me, this quote is a reminder that we all have our ups and downs in life, every single one of us. Even the people deemed "most successful" still have times that if life would have stopped in those moments, they would have been left feeling as though life were unhappy. No matter your past, no matter what you are experiencing right now, we all can still have a very different ending than what we are on the path to having. I'm here to help you find that new path and to help you feel safe taking the first steps down it. Taking the first steps down the road of change is often difficult for people. I encourage you to set up an initial appointment and we will walk down that road together. I am an LMSW who has been practicing for 8+ years. I specialize in helping individuals heal from their past, gain insight and manage the present, and thrive in the future. I am passionate about working with women who are in the transitional phase of life. Whether it's a break-up, divorce, infidelity, sexual assault, insecurities, low self-esteem, healing from past trauma, infertility or loss of child, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, or learning to love yourself I will be walking alongside you to help you through the process to get to a better place. Learn to let go of sadness and anger towards others, and self, to find your inner peace. I hope to see you in my virtual office soon.

I believe in therapy as someone who has done my own clinical work since I was in my mid-twenties. I grew up in NJ and moved to Michigan to attend college and have been here since that time. I spent the first part of my career working in the foster care system with children and adolescents which I really enjoyed. That gave me a great foundation for working with the adult issues of attachment, child developmental stages that were not accomplished and struggles with current relationships. I do a lot of work with people who were raised by narcissistic parents, people who are dealing with cancer diagnosis and those with chronic or life threatening illnesses. I work with people who are addressing childhood trauma, sexual abuse or emotional abuse. I have worked with adoptees who are seeking understanding of themselves and their past. I do a lot of work with individuals transitioning from a divorce situation and all the adjustments that this involves especially in coparenting situations. I find people and their life experiences fascinating and always worth unpacking and investigating to gain a better understanding of the self as a whole being; there is always something new to learn.

If you are reading this right now, you are probably feeling alone or in crisis. Time does not heal all wounds; it just gives them space to sink into the subconscious, where they continue to impact your emotions and behavior. “What heals is going inward, loving yourself, accepting yourself, listening to your needs, addressing your attachments and emotional history and following your intuition" (Yung Pueblo). I aim to create an alliance with you to help you find your voice, tell your story, re-engage your strengths and cultivate new ways to stay mindful and grounded—no matter what life throws at you. I work with adults suffering from childhood trauma, sibling violence, emotional abuse, narcissistic parents, emotional neglect, relationship issues, and PTSD. I am passionate about supporting non-binary and transgender individuals, especially those who have experienced childhood trauma. My approach centers on creating a safe, affirming, and empathetic space where clients can explore their identities, heal from past wounds, and build resilience. I understand the unique challenges that come with navigating both gender identity and the impacts of trauma, and I use a blend of trauma-informed therapies to help clients reclaim their sense of self and move forward with confidence. Whether you're working through struggles with self-acceptance or the lasting effects of past trauma, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space to process, heal, and grow. Together, we will work to empower you to embrace your authentic self and find peace in your journey. I am deeply committed to supporting the non-binary and transgender community and believe that every person deserves to live fully, authentically, and without the weight of past traumas holding them back.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Michigan rather than a city like Detroit?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Michigan from Grand Rapids to Warren! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Michigan.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
