You may be the person everyone relies on—the one who keeps showing up, handles responsibilities, and appears to have everything under control. But underneath that, you may feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or unsure how to prioritize yourself without feeling guilty. I’m Steve, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 15 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, self-esteem, difficult life transitions, and the pressure of constantly having to be “the strong one.” My style is warm, authentic, and direct. I’ll support you without judgment, but I’ll also respectfully challenge you, help you recognize patterns, and hold you accountable to the goals you set for yourself. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and tailored to who you are. Together, we’ll work toward healthier boundaries, greater confidence, stronger relationships, and meaningful changes that extend beyond the therapy session.

Hello, I'm Tracey. "Relationships often die not because of conversations that were had but rather conversations that were never had," (Lysa Terkeurst). Communication is the #1 most reported reason for couples to enter therapy. It is the "appropriate" way of saying, "he doesn't listen to me," and "all she wants to do is talk and talk, {nag}" or giving each other what I refer to as the "non-verbal abuse" {silent treatment}. It means I don't know my partner, or we can't talk without fighting. Yet almost every couple starts off communicating at some level. I mean, come on--you and your partner would not be a couple if the first date involved playing the "Staring contest" where the first one to blink loses. What we fail to recognize is that Communication is a form of Intimacy. And all other forms on intimacy hinge on protecting the communicative intimacy. So, what is that and how do I get some before we leave each other? Communicative intimacy refers to the deep emotional and relational closeness that develops through communication, where individuals feel understood, valued, and connected on a personal level. It is both a feeling and a process shaped by how people interact, listen, and respond to each other. It involves an aligned commitment to taking care of it and protecting it. So, time's a wasting and you both are out of options. You both need to commit to starting this before you commit to ending.

As a mental health professional for over twenty-five years, I am dedicated to helping clients explore options and strategies so that they may live a healthier and happier life. I provide compassionate care and counseling to individuals in Illinois, Missouri and Florida via Telehealth. I possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work specializing in Mental Health and Addictions. I also have completed a Master of Business Administration Degree focused on Healthcare Management. I am a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, camping and traveling. I have extensive experience in Leadership and Direct Care positions within Inpatient and Outpatient Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Recovery and Rehabilitation facilities. As a result of those experiences, I witnessed and truly believe mental health and addiction recovery is possible. As we each experience our life’s journey, the good, bad, and ugly, we continue to learn and grow along the way. Many journeys will include troubled times resulting in anxiety, mood disorders, grief, loss, parenting difficulties, relationship issues, addictions and other challenges along the way. But most will also include exciting and positive times such as graduations, college, marriage, career advancements, births, relocations, new homes, new friends, and many more. Although positive, adjustment to these experiences may also result in a need for support during the transition. As a Social Worker, my approach will focus on the whole individual to identify other factors contributing to the current problem. This will include past and current relationships, health issues, work, living and social environments. My goal is to help clients find hope, joy and peace. They will achieve this by learning to view problems differently and using healthy coping skills to make changes and adjust to a new normal.

As a provider, I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to counseling, rooted in my own experiences as a wife, mother to two wonderful children, and lover of animals. I understand the challenges of balancing family life, personal growth, and the stresses that come with both. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master's degree in Social Work and currently work full-time as a school social worker, where I have the privilege of supporting students through life's challenges. My passion for helping others extends beyond the school setting, which is why I am excited to offer supportive online counseling with the goal of eventually opening an in-person practice to further serve my community. In my free time, I enjoy watching my children play sports and spending time outdoors during the summer months. However, I also love cozying up indoors with a good book or favorite TV show. These personal interests help me relate to the balance of work, family, and self-care that many clients face. I am eager to expand my work from the school environment into the broader community, offering a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges and grow towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I joke I am a girls girl, a hype man, an encourager. I always wondered why I loved people so much and how to tap into that. Well, here I am, I figured it out. I want you to know how loved you are, how important you are, and to know you don’t have to keep doing this life all on your own. Sometimes, when we meet, something I say may sound confusing, but I promise you it will come full circle. In my experience as a counselor, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals in various settings. I have worked with children and adults in the community, residential, hospital, and educational settings. In each environment I have witnessed the marvel of human potential firsthand. As a clinician I approach people and the work that I do from the belief that people have the innate ability to grow and heal on their own. My personal life experience and my practice have fostered this belief, recognizing that the process may require or be made more manageable with some assistance or a guide, in the form of counseling. Through my experiences I have witnessed the benefits of the human components that aid in the healing process of psychological symptoms that create difficulty in moving toward fulfillment and full integration of the human experience in the lives of many. The therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard are components that for me represent the core of therapy. These components create an experience in which someone can safely explore themselves, their experiences, the world around them, and identify solutions to ailments and the "true self" that is often altered by the world around us.

My first career includes 17 years of retail management. I worked in multiple divisions, environments, and roles within the retail management industry. Most of my experience was in big-box retail environments or corporate offices, so I understand the expectations and stressors of P&L management, marketing, staff performance/recruitment/training & development, shrinkage, O.S.H.A. compliance, and merchandising. I transitioned from the retail management industry to the human services industry in March 2010 after earning my Master’s degree in Human Services, with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling. I recently obtained a doctoral degree in Human and Social Services. This information is pertinent for adults who need assistance to cope with work-life balance, corporate industry standards, stressful work environments, conflict management with co-workers, and work performance due to compassion fatigue or inappropriate time management.

I am an Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University, where the prominent perspective was person-centered therapy. I have worked with several different client populations including couples with marriage difficulties, adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and other life adjustment issues, physically and sexually abused adolescents and adults, adolescents with mental health issues related to school, home, adjustment, or mental illness, and even adolescents and adults on the verge of suicide. In working with these populations, I have gained vast experience in family dynamics and feel it is important to focus on the whole system, especially when a child is involved. I have also been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and I feel many adults and adolescents could greatly benefit from learning these skills. Hello, my name is Chelsea, and I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I graduated in 2019 from Clarke University with my Master's of Social Work. I spent my undergraduate years shadowing and volunteering at a sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy center. I completed research in the areas of trauma, decision making, and intimate relationships. I completed a job shadow with a Victim Witness Coordinator, where I also conducted a year long research project on domestic violence in rural communities. During that time I completed an internship at a combined homeless shelter and food pantry. I then completed a secondary internship at a local community mental health center. I spent four years working at that same local community mental health center where I provided crisis services, individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. I was able to earn my license during that time. I transitioned into school based social work and provided case management and therapy services in the local school setting. I now have opened a private practice called Resiliency Counseling, which is an individualized practice focused on providing individual, couples, and family therapy services to help people who are wanting to improve their mental health in a safe, accepting, and trusting environment. I always strive to meet my patients where they are at in their mental health journey and tailor my approach to what they need. I approach therapy as a mix of processing, guidance, and challenging, in order to help a client identify, process, and reach their mental health goals.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out! Do you ever have those days when things are especially difficult?? Many of the people that I meet are looking for support with mental health, substance abuse, and managing traumatic events. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Currently, I work with adults and youth, and I'm a strong believer in the mental/physical health connection. I also support a small hospice team in my area so am comfortable having uncomfortable conversations. I believe in strengths-based recovery that looks at all the systems that can impact us. Bits and pieces of different models incorporated together tend to have the most benefit, based on the person's needs. I have seen so many great successes! I enjoy supporting the people I work with and going through their journey with them. I am currently licensed in IL, MI and TN. When I am not in sessions, you will find me hiking with the doggos, traveling with my social groups,, and going into "Mom Mode" with my three kids. I look forward to connecting with you :)

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or constantly on edge? Exhausted from trying to hold everything together? You may be struggling from the effects of anxiety, depression, or trauma. Maybe you're feeling emotionally drained, unmotivated, or simply not feeling like yourself anymore. You may find yourself having difficulty relaxing, withdrawing from the people or things you once enjoyed, constantly overthinking, or worrying about what might go wrong. Anxiety and depression can make even everyday life feel exhausting, and you don't have to figure it all out on your own. Together, we can work to understand what's contributing to how you're feeling, develop healthier ways of coping, and help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, divorce, coparenting, or work issues, therapy can be a safe place to slow things down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and begin reconnecting with yourself. I also specialize in helping people who have experienced unhealthy relationships, domestic violence, emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, and trauma. Sometimes these experiences show up as anxiety, depression, self-doubt, people-pleasing, difficulty trusting yourself or others, or feeling as though you've lost your identity. You do not have to know exactly what to call what you've been through in order to seek support. My goal is not just to help you get through each day, but to help you reconnect with yourself and create a life where you feel empowered, safe, confident, and like yourself again. You're not stuck. Healing is possible, and you do not have to go through it alone. I provide a warm, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel understood, supported, and comfortable being your authentic self. If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be honored to support you on your journey.

I tend to thrive in crisis. Ideal with the toughest cases of trauma, shootings, cults abductions, and domestic violence. I have been able to help so many veterans as well over the past 12+ years in my positions with US Service Animals, Simple, Practice, Grow Therapy and other telehealth platforms. I was an early adopter of telehealth and I have seen it. Make such a difference for so many people because of the comfort that is brought by being able to open up in an environment you know is safe, your own home/space. I take a solutions focused and a client centered approach. I am also insight oriented. I have a lot of insight when it comes to dealing with physical pain and disabilities as I have a visual disability since very young and suffered a TBI at age 24. I like to focus on what issues you are having and come up with coping mechanisms that will work for you. Dealing with the struggles I have had throughout my life has helped me work with people and develop creative and effective coping mechanisms for their specific issues. I have now lived and worked in several states with varying cultures and have benefited from all of these experiences. I have spent a lot of time in a hospital and work well with nurses and medical professionals as well. Please reach out if you think I can help and I will meet you where you are and see where we can go from here.
