LCPC, 20 years of experience
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois with 20 years of experience working with adults, teens, and children. I use a holistic, trauma-informed approach that sees emotional challenges as signals of unmet needs or unprocessed experiences—not personal flaws. I strive to create a warm, validating space where you can understand yourself more clearly and move toward the life you want.
In our first session, we’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to understand or change. Rather than spending a lot of time explaining my approach, I tend to dive right in so you can get a real sense of what it feels like to work together. I’ll make space for any questions or concerns you may have, and my goal is for you to leave the session with a clear sense of whether my style feels supportive and like the right fit for your needs.
I’m at my best when helping clients feel seen, understood, and normalized. I don’t approach therapy through a medical lens—your thoughts and feelings aren’t “symptoms” to fix. I use a holistic, human-centered approach that explores your experiences with honesty, compassion, and respect for the complexity of being human.
I’m especially attuned to working with women who feel unsure of themselves, overwhelmed in their relationships, or affected by emotional abuse. I also care deeply about helping people make sense of work stress and career struggles, and I enjoy partnering with clients who bring insight, curiosity, and even a sense of humor to the process. I tend to connect naturally with clients who want honesty, clarity, and a genuinely supportive therapeutic relationship.
My eclectic approach reflects the way I naturally work: human-to-human, flexible, and guided by what each individual needs. While I have extensive professional training and two decades of experience, I don’t rely on a rigid model. Instead, I draw from a range of therapeutic perspectives — as well as my own lived experience — to offer insight, feedback, and practical support in a conversational, down-to-earth way. I listen closely, reflect honestly, and help you explore patterns, emotions, and solutions that fit your life. This is your healing process, and I want you to feel empowered to decide whether my style feels right for you. If it does, I’m here to listen and walk beside you. I also have experience working with LGBTQ+ clients and welcome people of all identities.
I use CBT in a flexible, conversational way to help clients notice patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My approach isn’t rigid or worksheet-driven; instead, I integrate CBT concepts naturally into our sessions to help you better understand how your inner dialogue and interpretations affect what you feel. Together, we explore more supportive ways of thinking and responding so you can feel more grounded and empowered in your daily life.
