Hi, I’m Jennifer Murphy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children, adolescents, and adults. I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and genuinely human. I strive to offer a steady, nonjudgmental space where clients will feel heard and understood as they navigate life’s challenges, make sense of their experiences, and move toward meaningful growth at their own pace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what feels most important to you right now, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. My goal is for you to feel at ease, heard, and supported while we start to figure out what feels most helpful for you moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring warmth, compassion, and authenticity to my sessions. My approach is shaped by both clinical experience and a deep understanding of how life experiences can impact emotional wellbeing and relationships. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and not judged. I tend to be a steady, supportive presence while also helping clients reflect, gain insight, and notice patterns when it feels helpful.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or navigating difficult life circumstances. I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as they work toward greater emotional wellness and personal growth. Whether you are facing unexpected challenges, adjusting to change, or simply looking for a space to process your thoughts and experiences, I provide a compassionate and collaborative environment where you can explore what matters most to you and move toward meaningful growth.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I believe every person has strengths, even when they may be difficult to see during challenging times. I help clients identify what's already working, build on their existing skills, and recognize the resilience they have shown throughout their lives. Together, we focus on both challenges and strengths to support growth and positive change.

Narrative

Sometimes people begin to see themselves through the lens of their struggles. I help clients explore the stories they tell themselves about who they are and their experiences, while identifying strengths, successes, and moments of resilience that may have been overlooked. This can help clients develop a more balanced and empowering view of themselves.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are closely connected. I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, understand how those patterns impact emotions and actions, and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping. CBT can be especially helpful for managing anxiety, stress, depression, and everyday challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

Change can feel difficult, especially when you're unsure where to start. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I help them explore their own goals, values, and motivations. Together, we identify what matters most and build confidence in taking meaningful steps forward at a pace that feels comfortable.

Eclectic

Every person is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches and tailor sessions to each client's unique needs, strengths, goals, and preferences. This allows therapy to remain flexible, personalized, and responsive as needs change over time.
