I am an African American woman and Buddhist practitioner. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a graduate degree from the University of Chicago and Adler University, bringing rigorous clinical training and a deep commitment to healing to every client I serve. I specialize in working with Veterans, individuals navigating mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, substance abuse, and the challenges of major life transitions. My work is rooted in the belief that with the right support, positive change can be within your reach to help you reclaim your sense of purpose, stability, and connection. I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times, but you don't have to face it alone. Together, we can work toward a life that feels more hopeful, balanced, and authentically yours.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Aside from ensuring all documentation is completed, your session is about you. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or to know exactly what to say. We'll take things at your pace, and I'll gently guide our conversation to help me understand your story, what's bringing you in, and what you're hoping to feel or experience in your life. Think of it as a warm, open conversation rather than an interview. I may ask about your background, current challenges, and goals, but most importantly, I was hoping you could leave that first session feeling heard, respected, and hopeful. My door is a judgment-free zone, and your comfort and safety are always my top priority. By the end of our time together, we'll begin to shape a path forward that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What truly sets my practice apart is the belief that healing happens on every level: mind, body, and spirit. I take an eclectic, holistic approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy, weaving together the depth and wisdom of Depth Psychology, Intuitive Dream Work, energy healing techniques, and Reiki to help clients access healing that is profound and lasting. Depth Psychology invites us to explore the deeper layers of the unconscious, the parts of ourselves that quietly shape our thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Dream Work opens a powerful window into your inner world, unlocking insights and wisdom that your waking mind may not yet have access to. And through energy healing and Reiki, we address what the body holds, releasing stored tension, trauma, and emotional blocks that words alone sometimes can't reach. The result? Clients often experience not just relief from symptoms but a genuine transformation, a deeper understanding of who they are, a reconnection with their inner strength, and a renewed sense of clarity and purpose. This is therapy that honors the whole you, and meets you at the deepest level of your healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a deep commitment to working with people who have carried heavy burdens often in silence and are ready to begin healing on their own terms. My practice warmly welcomes: Veterans & Active Military, survivors of Domestic Violence, Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, PTSD, Substance use Disorders, and those exploring identity. You don't have to have it all figured out. My dream clients are simply people who are ready to do the work, even when it feels hard. Willing to be honest, even when it's uncomfortable. Hoping for something different than where they are right now, because you deserve a space where your whole story is welcome. I would be honored to be a part of your healing journey.

My treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Being culturally responsive involves integrating the client's background, values, beliefs, and identity into the therapeutic process by remaining curious and humble. Recognizing intersectionality, including race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and age. Understanding how my own cultural lens impacts the systemic power dynamics in the therapeutic relationship. Using language and communication styles that adjust directness, formality, and self-disclosure based on cultural norms. Openly address mistrust directly to ensure rapport building as a clinical orientation that is CBT, culturally adapted CBT to assess, intervene, and identify specific modalities to address trauma work.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In our work together, I use an approach called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This means we'll explore the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors because the way we think about situations often shapes how we feel and what we do. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and practice practical skills to help you respond to challenges in new ways. CBT is an active, collaborative process you'll be learning tools you can use in everyday life.

Compassion Focused

I use Compassion Focused Therapy, which means we'll work on building kindness and understanding toward yourself- not to avoid hard things, but to face them with more warmth and less self-criticism. It's about learning to treat yourself the way you'd treat someone you tyruly care about

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy, which focuses on understanding the deeper emotions driving your relationship patterns. We'll work together to identify what you're really feeling and needing beneath the surface, and use that to build stronger, more secure connections with others and with yourself.
