I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in the Chicago Suburbs. I have 10 years of experience working in Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient programs with women with mood disorders, eating disorders and trauma symptoms. I balance processing the memories and beliefs that keep clients stuck with building tangible skills that can help them manage their emotions outside of therapy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then I'll want to hear about what areas that bring you to therapy and what you most want to focus on. This will help me to create a plan with you including what types of therapy to use and what our roadmap is moving forward in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in higher levels of care, I am well versed in multiple treatment modalities and comfortable with a variety of symptom levels. I will meet you where you are at and help you figure out where you are going to manage your mental health and thrive in your life.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients connect with their values and accept and defuse from difficult thoughts and emotions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a Certified DBT therapist, I have experience teaching mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation skills in group and individual settings. I believe DBT skills can help a client coping with any type of emotion dysregulation, especially trauma responses, eating disorder and self-injury urges, and other harmful behaviors.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I have used cognitive processing therapy with clients whose traumatic experiences have led to persistent negative beliefs that keep them stuck. It is a time-limited, assignment based model which can help many clients see their progress.

EMDR

I am EMDR trained and use EMDR with clients processing trauma. I also use EMDR resourcing skills, along with other coping skills with many clients in order to develop stability in order to begin processing traumatic experiences.
