Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been in practice for seven years.
I support clients dealing with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, school and work burnout and caregiver stress and burnout. I believe each person’s mental health journey is unique, and effective treatment should align with their specific goals.
I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression.
The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake."
I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions.
My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify.
Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.

I work with individual adults and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, abuse, addiction, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and more. Trauma can have a profound effect on how people view the world and relate to others, which is why a trauma-informed approach to treatment can be very helpful. I will help people heal from their painful and distressing experiences so they are able to feel more safe and secure in the world now. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Vermont and a Master’s degree in Counseling from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and a Doctorate in Psychology from Roosevelt University. I have experience working in private practice, crisis centers, in-patient hospitals, employee assistance programs, community mental health centers, and primary care clinics. I have worked with adults, couples, people with developmental disabilities, survivors of sexual abuse, people of the Latinx population, couples with infertility issues, and people facing deportation. I believe these experiences have helped me find multiple ways to connect with others and help them reach their goals.
Regardless of how often we meet, be it once a week, once per month, or once in a lifetime, my goal is to create an atmosphere free from external judgment. This will allow you room to develop both clarity and confidence in the decisions you make while you determine the best manner in which to live your life. As you gain greater insight into ongoing challenges, I will provide theory based reflective and directive clinical support. Through this process, you may find your ability to grow and change has a limitless capacity. It's time to experience life on your terms.

I’m Jamie. I’ve been doing this work for 12 years and the thing I know for sure is that you can’t do therapy wrong. There’s no right way to show up here. You just show up and we figure it out together.
I’m person-centered, which means I follow you, not a textbook. I’m not going to diagnose you in the first ten minutes or hand you a worksheet. I’m going to listen. And I’m going to take what you’re feeling seriously, even if nobody else has.
I work with women, LGBTQ+ folks, and people the therapy world hasn’t quite caught up to yet, including people in emotional or romantic relationships with AI. If that’s part of your life, you don’t have to explain or defend it here. Your AI partner is welcome in sessions too.

I work with clients who are struggling with grief, anxiety, depression or trauma. I also work with clients who may need assistance in processing everyday life stressors and want a supportive therapist whom they can confide in who will also challenge them and assist with problem-solving.
I also work with those facing reproductive challenges. As a compassionate and empathetic therapist, I understand the complex emotional and psychological impact that infertility and miscarriage can have. I can:
• Support you in maintaining hope, peace and positivity while navigating uncertainty and help you build resiliency as you work through obstacles.
• Help you to recognize and access your deeper intuition, so you are better equipped to honor your body, spirit and mind with the highest intention throughout your journey.
• Work with you on increasing clarity and purpose around your fertility journey.
• Utilize a holistic approach to address integrative lifestyle strategies that may be beneficial to your fertility path.
• Assist you in addressing relationship difficulties that can arise out of the stress of fertility challenges, help you develop strategies to increase intimacy with your partner and foster healthy communication.
For women and men who have experienced reproductive loss:
• The devastating and seemingly invisible pain of losing a pregnancy is unique in that it involves not only the loss of your baby, but also involves the loss of the future - and there is no accepted way to mark that loss. Sometimes it seems that friends and family members expect the person to move on quickly. Partners often grieve differently - and for men, the trauma of miscarriage is often overlooked. Also, some women may suffer guilt or shame associated with the loss that doesn't tend to occur with other types of grieving.
• There is no universal template for grief. Together, we will address your unique needs as you work through your grieving process.
I am a therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, stress, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I provide a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and respected. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening emotional resilience, and developing healthier coping and communication skills. My goal is to help clients improve relationships, increase self-awareness, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change that supports overall emotional well-being and personal growth.

As a mental health therapist, I work with veterans who have mental disorders, individuals from all populations experiencing substance use disorders, along with PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, and grief. My impact lies in providing compassionate, evidence-based care, helping clients build resilience, develop coping skills, restore hope, and achieve stability so they can lead healthier, more meaningful lives.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with experience in both private practice and inpatient hospital settings. I enjoy building strong, positive relationships with my clients and using humor to help foster connection in session.
