(she/her)
Hi, I'm Brigitte. Do you struggle with a trauma, anxiety or depressive thoughts? Are they negatively impacting your relationships, career and your day-to-day life? I would love an opportunity to get to know your personal struggles and work together to reach a state of contentment and joy so you can live your life to the fullest. You will feel comforted and supported in our sessions. I will listen openly to your goals and we can develop solutions together. Therapy is not one size fits all. It is an individualized course of actions to treat each area in what feels best to each client. I look forward to learning about you and working together to bring your happiness and empowerment back. You are not alone. We can do this together.
In our first session, I want to get to know you as a person. We will discuss your therapy goals, your support system and what brought you to therapy. We can discuss any abuse you have endured and places where you feel stuck. This is typically an overview session, but I never like to leave a session without giving a suggestion or two so you can begin healing as soon as possible.
I believe one of my biggest strengths is helping clients understand the impact their trauma has had on them and their daily lives and figuring out the best way to work through it. I also do well with teaching positive communication skills especially with handling difficult people, setting and maintaining boundaries and changing the connections in one's brain to increase the positive messages and decrease the negative messages you give yourself. I also have a good understanding of victims of domestic violence, the vicious cycle and understanding why the abuse can be difficult to admit to yourself and reasons why you may stay.
I am here to listen in a judgement free zone. I have helped many clients feel validated and understood when discussing difficult relationships and dynamics of abuse in either their relationships with their partners or with their parents. We can start where you are at and begin with communication techniques and acceptance of your life and what you want it to be.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use solution focused therapy to work with individuals on goal setting, problem solving and improving communication skills. Sometimes changing the way you hear or say something can make all the difference in the relaitonship.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a great method to use when you are trying to retrain your mind for managing anxiety, depression and cognitive distortions.
Trauma Informed Care
Undergoing trauma can greatly impact your daily life. It requires a sensitivity and understanding for oneself to accept and grow from the trauma encountered. I use trauma informed care to help my clients be kind to themself, understand their trauma and the effects it has had one them and move forward as a survivor. Domestic abuse and gaslighting are two types of trauma I have worked extensively with to find closure, understanding and confidence. Sometimes the victim does not know why they stay and that is ok. We can work together for whatever goal you are working towards.
Strength-Based
I use a strengths based approach because I feel it is important to view yourself in a perspective of hoping building off of your natural strengths and making improvement in the areas that you want o develop into strengths.
