New to Grow
I studied clinical social work at New York University and has several years of experience as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship obstacles, OCD, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach is client-centered-psychodynamic and ACT. I believe that curiosity and increasing self awareness is the key toward meaningful and sustainable change.
In a first session, I will explore with you some of the motivations of what brought you here. The details of what you are experiencing, explore your support systems and ask what you would like to tangibly receive from therapy. When you walk away what skills would you like to gain? How would you like to feel?
I believe you can say anything with kindness. I will challenge you and honestly discuss patterns/ask tough questions and I do this with warmth and kindness. (I believe I do, but you can tell me if I'm mean) :)
If you are seeking to understand more about yourself, why you are having difficulty in certain relationships or with communication or uncertain where you want your life to go or what relationships/environments are right for you. Or seek to understand anxiety/depression, range of moods-why these occur and how to work with them/or change them. I explore this more in depth with you to then inform how change can occur for you one step at a time.
Other specialties
I identify as
Psychoanalytic
I ask questions to help you explore any recurring patterns of behavior, past relationships or experiences that may shape your current reality and also exploring your feelings surrounding these events/experiences/relationships. I aim to help you understand the deeper patterns that shape your thoughts, emotions, relationships and behaviors.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
The goal is to help you live the life you want with anxiety/uncomfortable emotions. Rather than avoiding these feelings/experiences to change your relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than trying to eliminate them.
