My Professional Background and Counseling Philosophy
My passion for mental health has shaped my work with individuals, families, and communities across a variety of settings. Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with clients to enhance their well-being, drawing on my experience across diverse settings, including hospital Emergency Departments, psychiatric units, community organizations, and mental health agencies. Counseling Philosophy
At the core of my counseling practice is the belief that meaningful change occurs through collaboration and purposeful effort. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and encourage them to take an active role in their treatment by investing time and energy in the process. Together, we identify the outcomes that matter most to the client and work to ensure consistent progress toward those goals. My approach centers on empowering clients by fostering self-awareness and resilience, and I am dedicated to ensuring every individual feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
Commitment to Client Autonomy
What distinguishes my counseling style is a steadfast commitment to honoring each client’s autonomy. For example, I have worked with clients who struggle with anxiety and self-doubt. By collaborating closely, we identify the client’s unique strengths and develop practical coping strategies tailored to their needs. As clients move through this process, they gradually regain their confidence and begin taking meaningful steps toward their desired outcomes. This experience reinforced for me the importance and effectiveness of a supportive, empowering therapeutic alliance. In every interaction, my focus is on achieving the best possible results and facilitating lasting, positive change.

Greetings! My name is Kalyn Brumbley, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I earned my Master's degree from Valdosta State University and have been in practice for five years. My expertise lies in supporting women as they navigate both acute and complex trauma, along with challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relational health, and life transitions.
Welcome! I'm Tobi! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families.
I want to first applaud you for taking the leap to get support for your next chapter! You've made the leap in deciding on therapy, now let's keep the momentum with finding a therapist that is right for you, right now!
I especially work with clients to explore recurring challenges related to anxiety, PTSD, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients identify maladaptive patterns, develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
I strive to personalize and facilitate systematic, strategic, and effective support plans for individuals to achieve what they believe (or don't believe is possible) after a series of setbacks or interpersonal challenges. I am a goal-oriented clinician who comes alongside my clients to discover or re-discover the self that may have gotten muddled along the way.
When feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, unexpected transitions, and low energy to overcome mental health challenges or setbacks, I fervently adopt the coach and modeling posture that will help you to learn and use adaptive mental health tools that will promote renewal, clarity, and rhythmic motivation to take control of your whole health and wellness journey.
Emotional Trauma happens when someone or something violates your trust and/or well-being. If you have been betrayed and are experiencing self-doubt, trust/safety issues, poor self-esteem, or any self sabotage behaviors you could benefit from individual or couples therapy.
Whether your issues are from childhood, past relationships, career, or regrets from your mistakes; betrayal can cause a variety of problems that will cause you to suffer and feel stagnated.
I became a Therapist because I wanted to help individuals and couples who need healing from unresolved issues from their past. Although, it may feel as if life can't be different, this is not true. The truth is, you do have the power to change your life. Participating in counseling is the first step!
We all face challenges—some big, some small—that can deeply impact our lives. These struggles can feel overwhelming, draining our mind, body, and spirit. I understand this personally, having walked through my own experiences with depression and anxiety. With the support of God, professionals, and family, I was able to grow stronger through those difficult times. My journey led me from Nursing into the field of Counseling, where I now feel called to help others find hope, healing, and strength in the midst of their own challenges.

Have you noticed that your pre-teen is acting differently– not as interested in school work, arguing more, changed her habits or friends, lost interest in hobbies, is more withdrawn?
Have you tried to cheer your child up, cajoled her, or maybe you’ve taken away privileges, like the phone or computer time in an effort to correct behavior but nothing seems to work? If you’ve come to the end of your rope and want solutions, I can help.
As a parent of two, I have walked the winding, rocky, breathtaking path of parenthood. As a therapist, I have worked with a broad range of children, adolescents, and their parents to not only get through rough spots or trauma but to have it be the foundation of a stronger, more connected family relationship.
Because this platform is based in providing telehealth virtually, and not in person, I have found it best to serve clients that are 10 years old (3rd grade) and older.
Tara Sanders is a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and has been in the mental health field for 20 + yrs. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University and earned her Master’s of Science degree from Abilene Christian University. She has a wide range of career experience that allows her to adapt to the varied needs of her clients. Her diverse experience was derived from working in an all-male maximum-security prison, her position as a school counselor to provide counseling services to children in need of temporary, situational, and/or ongoing emotional challenges, her years acting as a mobile crisis assessor, and her role as supervisor for a state-wide crisis hotline. Additionally, she worked as a Military Family Life Counselor for 10 years overseas in Europe (German and Italy) and stateside.
Tara believes that individuals who are entering counseling should feel comfortable and safe which is why she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an approach that highlights channeling negative thoughts into positive ones. She believes that stressors in one’s life can feel unmanageable, but she helps her clients to maximize their resiliency and come to view the challenge as a bump in the road --a bump that can be moved past into a successful healthier path. Her goal is for all her patients to become open to gaining new perspectives and be willing to explore family dynamics and upbringings that have developed them into the persons they are today. Tara works with her clients to assist them with changing any self-defeating thoughts and behaviors.
She truly believes that caring for yourself and your relationships are the most important task that you will ever have.

I bring a strong foundation of experience in supporting individuals through a wide range of mental health challenges. Over time, I’ve developed a particular passion for working with anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and offering specialized care through Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, an evidence-based approach that can bring real relief and change.
In addition to anxiety and OCD, I also support clients navigating life transitions and the stress that can come with them. My approach includes building practical coping skills, managing stress, reframing unhelpful thought patterns, and gently challenging negative behaviors. I also integrate helpful online self-guided resources to support your progress between sessions.
Taking the first step toward change can be the hardest and the most courageous. I'm here to walk alongside you, and I truly look forward to supporting you on your journey!

Things have started falling apart around you. You're worried about losing a relationship, your job, or worse. People close to you have started to mention they are worried about you. A part of you wants to change, but you're stuck between unbearable emotions and trying to keep everything under control. And it's not working out. You may be lashing out, drinking more, or avoiding people close to you. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, shame from the past, or out-of-control substance use, you don’t have to stay where you are – suffering. You’re resilient and persistent, and right now, you’re just stuck.
I help people recover from being stuck in anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or the shame that comes with out-of-control substance use. I can help you figure out how to get back on track by teaching you the tools you’ll need to manage your feelings and problems and how to recover your relationships. No one needs to go through what you are feeling, alone.
If you are ready for a new strategy and to try something different, I can help. The biggest result I could give you is to help you remove barriers that prevent you from achieving your goals. I do this with DBT, Brainspotting, and other therapy techniques. Take the first step and schedule an appointment online.

You hold the power to stop hurting and start healing and once you reach out for help, I will help guide you on your path of change and recovery. I'll guide you toward reconnecting and reclaiming any loss of positive self-image through the realization of your strengths and we'll celebrate all your small and significant measures of progress. So ready, set, let's get started!
