My passion lies in connecting with people and truly hearing their stories. I am dedicated to connecting with individuals and appreciating their unique perspectives and experiences. With 12 years of experience in social work, I have supported foster and adoptive families, facilitated refugee resettlement, provided Christian counseling, worked with military and veteran populations, and assisted individuals with addiction to reclaim their lives. As a mother of a large family, a former foster parent, and a member of a military family, I bring a personal understanding to my work.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to take away a deeper understanding of themselves, improved coping strategies, and enhanced emotional resilience. They will gain insights into their thoughts and behaviors, develop personalized goals, and learn effective tools for managing challenges.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My style is open minded, empowering, culturally sensitive, trauma informed, holistic and integrative.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have utilized ACT for assisting clients in managing chronic pain, substance use, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their challenges. My approach is client-centered, blending evidence-based techniques with sensitivity to each individual’s unique experiences and values.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I utilize Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients address the impact of trauma on their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CPT is particularly effective for individuals experiencing PTSD or trauma-related symptoms. My approach is structured, empathetic, and tailored to each client’s needs.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In therapy, I use mindfulness-based approaches to help clients build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. This is particularly helpful for managing stress, anxiety, trauma, and addiction, as well as fostering overall emotional regulation and resilience.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about making positive changes in their lives. This client-centered approach is particularly effective for individuals struggling with addiction, managing behavioral challenges, or navigating major life transitions.
