LMFT, 14 years of experience
New to Grow
My name is Jasmine Fontenot- Harrell. I hold a Master degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University. I have worked in almost every setting for mental health and I have over 12 years of experience in the field. I take a collaborative approach to therapy walking alongside my clients, helping them rediscover themselves and develop skills to overcome life challenges.
In our first session, I want to get to know you. We will collaborate on what you want to work on in therapy. We will also go over what to expect from therapy.
I am very collaborative and believe that I am just an assistant on this journey with you. I am direct, yet compassionate. I am always open to feedback from my clients as well. Beginning therapy is a huge step and I want to respect that. Part of that is meeting my clients where they are and working with them rather than pushing my ideals onto them.
Do you want this? As the therapist, I can only do so much, but as the client you have to want to put in the work as well. We are a team! I am prepared to get in the trenches with you on your path of growth, healing, and rediscovery.
Solution Focused Therapy allows us to target the issue and use effective strategies to combat it. This modality is great for short term therapy.
This modality is also good for short term therapy. It allows us to process the connection between thoughts and actions. Within this modality structured interventions are used to bring about change.
I am a trained family therapist. This modality allows for the family unit to be able to explore how one’s actions may impact the family unit. It will also allow the family unit to be able to see how the status quo of operating may be impacting one or more members of the family unit. This can help bring about lasting change.
This modality is used in family therapy to allow the unit to unpack the current structure and how it is contributing to the dysfunction in the family. As the therapist I help the family facilitate communication to restore structure.
