Hello, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. I look forward to working with you and your family. I believe communication—even when it is limited to a single word or gesture—is the foundation of all relationships. In fact, research shows that much of our communication is nonverbal. My goal is to help individuals and families understand their relational patterns, navigate conflict more effectively, and become more congruent and intentional communicators. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use concerns and relapse prevention, grief and trauma, and bipolar disorders. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered as they move through life’s challenges. Additionally, I specialize in autism-related family dynamics, caregiver burnout, and identity transitions. I am the author of Dear Single Mother: A Journal of Autism, Isolation, and Self-Discovery, a reflective work that explores resilience and meaning-making through lived experience. While my writing reflects personal insight, my clinical work is rooted in systemic, trauma-informed care that honors both evidence-based practice and each client's unique experiences in the therapy room.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. My goal in our first session is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. During our initial session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to therapy, what feels most pressing right now, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once—this is your space, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you. We will also discuss your personal history, family dynamics, and any current stressors that may be affecting your emotional well-being. If you’re coming in as a parent or caregiver, we may explore how those roles are affecting you and your relationships. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas where you’d like support. You can expect the session to feel conversational and collaborative rather than clinical or rigid. My role is not to judge or “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as we clarify goals and create a plan that fits your unique needs. By the end of the first session, many clients leave with a clearer understanding of what’s going on beneath the surface and a sense of what our work together may look like moving forward. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling respected, validated, and hopeful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What often stands out to clients is that my approach is both grounded and deeply relational. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely understood—not rushed, judged, or reduced to a diagnosis. I work collaboratively with clients to help them make sense of their experiences within the context of their relationships, family systems, and life transitions. I take a systemic and trauma-informed approach, focusing not only on symptoms but on the patterns, stressors, and unspoken dynamics that shape emotional well-being. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we slow things down, identify what’s happening beneath the surface, and create space for clarity, regulation, and growth. Clients often share that therapy with me feels validating and practical. In addition to insight and emotional processing, I help clients develop tools for communication, boundary-setting, and emotional regulation that can be used in everyday life. For caregivers and autism families, this often includes addressing chronic stress, identity shifts, and the emotional toll of long-term caregiving. While results look different for each person, many clients report feeling more grounded, more confident in their relationships, and better equipped to navigate challenges with intention rather than reactivity. My goal is not quick fixes, but sustainable change that supports long-term emotional health and relational stability.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals and families navigating emotional overwhelm, life transitions, or ongoing stress, and are ready for a supportive, thoughtful space to heal and grow. Many come to therapy feeling exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward, yet they desire to understand themselves and their relationships better. I am exceptionally well-positioned to support caregivers and parents, including families impacted by autism, who may be experiencing burnout, grief, identity shifts, or chronic stress. These clients often feel responsible for everyone else’s needs while their own emotions have been pushed aside. Therapy becomes a place to slow down, process those experiences, and reconnect with a sense of self. I work well with clients who value reflection, honesty, and collaboration in the therapeutic process. You do not need to have everything figured out, but a willingness to explore patterns, communication styles, and emotional responses is essential. Many of my clients are seeking more than symptom relief—they want meaningful, sustainable change in how they relate to themselves and others. If your goals include improving communication, strengthening relationships, setting healthier boundaries, managing anxiety or mood concerns, and navigating life with greater clarity and intention, we may be a good fit.

Christie is personable and pleasant, and was able to give me several pointers and tips that were helpful in the short term. However she often didn't remember items we previously discussed and did not appear to match my urgency.
