I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. I completed my internship in a private practice setting, and since that time, have worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. Hi I am Kristie L. Griffin, LCSW, an eight-year, honorably discharged Army Active-Duty Veteran. I have over fifteen years of working directly with individuals who have experienced substance abuse, traumatic brain injury & chronic mental illness. I possess the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, mental health treatment plans, and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups. Most of my experience always included case management. My social work experience and training have equipped me to comply with many treatment protocols, perform advanced treatment care planning (Nursing Home Placements), and serve as a cohesive member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. I am also experienced in assessing and responding to patients who are identified as high- risk and may have urgent or acute care needs. As a clinical social worker, I am responsible for educating (and connecting) clients to the available resources and interventions. Referrals are made beyond the scope of social work practice. In addition, I have one and a half years left of qualitative research remaining toward a Doctoral Degree in Social Work (Clinical Expertise) from Walden University (Graduation Fall 2026). My doctoral training has prepared me to learn and adapt to various roles. My leadership training has allowed me to master/refine and define professional and technical knowledge of clinical theories, ethical principles/practices, and evidenced-based modalities/ treatment plans as clinically indicated for adults and children.
