Licensed to practice in Georgia and accepts 47 insurances. Specializes in Anxiety, Trauma and PTSD, Depression and 10 more.
I am a licensed psychologist with over 18 years of experience providing evidence-based, multiculturally sensitive psychotherapy. I earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Georgia, a M.S. in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University, and a B.B.A. in Risk Management from The University of Georgia. My approach emphasizes self-awareness, insight, and behavioral change, using supportive challenge and practical strategies to foster growth. I believe in the power of thoughts to shape emotions and behaviors and am committed to helping clients build resilience and lead more fulfilling lives.
I help clients gain awareness of how their thoughts and behaviors impact different areas of their lives. I ask two questions: (1) Is what you are currently doing working for you? and (2) What are you willing to change? During the therapy session, you can expect me to supportively challenge your irrational beliefs, in an effort to help you develop insight about unhealthy behavioral patterns that negatively impact your relationships, self-esteem, and ability to set and accomplish goals. In addition, clients can look forward to receiving "homework", as most of the therapeutic change process actually, takes place outside of the counseling session.
I pride myself on delivering evidenced-based, multiculturally sensitive psychotherapy. I provide a safe space for you to explore and process your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I align with clients to cultivate a supportive, encouraging, non-judgmental, therapeutic relationship.
I provide multiculturally sensitive psychotherapy for adolescents and adults through individual, couples, and family counseling. My expertise includes treating anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal challenges, substance abuse, and relationship issues. In addition to therapy, I offer consultation and outreach to public safety organizations and businesses, including churches, organizations, and corporations. I also facilitate trainings and seminars on communication skills, conflict resolution, work-life balance, and healthy relationships.

First session and I am excited to learn that life will throw you lemons and instead of running make lemonade or lemon water.

God heard my prayers! I prayed for a therapist who is warm, direct, and doesn't treat me like a patient. Just a safe space to help me process my thoughts and feelings. That's exactly what I got in my session with Dr. G. Next session already booked, and surprisingly, I'm looking forward to it.

She really helps me hear what my husband is saying, and she helps him hear what I'm saying. She's always good at bringing us back to tangible tasks that we can accomplish together. We appreciate her insights and perspective.
