First session

Growing Your Peace In a therapeutic supportive environment evidence-based modalities are utilized to give compassionate, personalized care to clients experiencing challenges. We address anxiety, anger, grief, academic difficulties, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and specific or social phobias. Leading individuals closer to a life filled with peace.

Strengths

I am a therapist who tries to relate to every client. Being a seasoned adult I carry many experiences good, bad and indifferent. Knowing that individuals are seeking support due to the reality they are currently facing makes me delve for the best way to equip them with the tools they need to grow. I seek knowledge because I know I am a tool in the process of the therapeutic relationship. I never as a therapist judge my clients because if I haven't experienced what they are going through then I surely can learn from their experiences.

Ideal clients

At Scott Counseling & Consulting Services we welcome clients where they are. Many times we understand you may not know what you need, the exact concern or what needs to be fixed in life. We strive to meet individuals on their journey. Our goal in working with you is provide you with the willingness to help you seek the growth you desire. The stage in which a client presents doesn't matter as much as their diligence and desire to move in "forever change."

Origin story

Assisting is my nature. I found early in life that I possessed a strong desire for everyone to by "well." We are not perfect individuals and when we need support there should be someone who is willing to support us until we can make it through. As a former school counselor I began to realize I didn't just need to help the littles with their big emotions, but also encourage and assist those who they were in the care of daily. I made a decision to pursue my licensure to be able to graciously serve.

Ongoing work together

We begin at the beginning as to determine a proper diagnosis. Once we begin sessions clients are kept at the forefront of their treatment. Regular check-ins and review of their treatment plan is a priority as we work as a therapeutic team. If changes occur during treatment with a client's diagnosis or mental or physical health they are notified immediately and if necessary their support team is initiated.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). These practices are a type of talk therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Providing evidence-based practices guided by empathy, collaboration, and respect for each individual's unique journey is our goal.
