Hello, I am Shaqueena. Are you tired of being tired? Do you feel that no one understands your situation or that no one can relate? Are you unsure if therapy is right for you?
If you are here, then that means that you are ready and motivated to make some changes in your life. Seeking help can sometimes be tough, which is why I believe that we all experience things in our life that goes beyond our ability to cope and when that happens we need a little more assistance.
As a licensed professional counselor, my ultimate goal is to first normalize seeking assistance by decreasing the stigma on mental health. In doing so, my goal is to assist individuals in their healing process, to empower individuals to become the best version of themselves and to help individuals to see that life is completely what you make it.
My preference for treatment is to utilize a trauma-informed approach in addition to CBT and Choice/Reality Therapy.

Are you feeling stuck, unworthy, unmotivated or hopeless?
You have goals and you try to move forward, because you know you have a lot to offer, but something always seems to get in the way of your career and your relationships.
You feel like you are never enough, like you don’t belong.
You wonder how things would be different if you were white, straight, able-bodied or cis-gendered. Every piece of self-help advice you read must be filtered through the lens of being marginalized and having less privilege. You wish someone could understand you.
You know logically how you “should” feel and you try to cope, but you find that you just can’t change by willpower alone.
It is not that you lack the willpower at all, it is something else. How you talk to yourself matters.
A few logistical things to mention. I'm not currently taking new clients, but will open up at some point in June. Please remain in communication with scheduling. If you book yourself, be aware that I may need to change the appointment to find a time if I'm not free. (Grow calender isn't always up to date with my other calenders.) Please complete any intake paperwork prior to your appointment.

Hi. I am a middle-aged married mother of one grown and one smaller child. Our next anniversary will be 10 years for us. We were both married before finding each other, so there is a history of blending families with children. I am a Christian and Jesus is the foundation of my life. "Through Christ, we can do all things." Philippians 4:13.
I have my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience in private practice settings and working in a community service board (CSB). I have led anger management groups. I have worked with ages from childhood to the elderly. I have worked with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD, family conflicts, relationship difficulties, traumas, abuse, bipolar disorder (manic episodes), suicidal ideations, personal growth (career, etc.), and spiritual development.
Life can be quite challenging. Many times we are facing situations that we are not prepared for or have prior hurts that affect our ability to overcome. When we get into these places it is easy to feel stuck or even blind to what is really going on. It is easy to shut down and isolate out of fear of what others may think. I enjoy providing a safe, warm, and caring environment to help you pull down any walls or barriers so you can face the situation head-on. Many past clients have shared how I have helped them see things in a different light so they were able to rise above the challenges and grow during the process. "All things work together good for those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
I am looking forward to meeting with you to help you grow stronger in who you are designed to be. You were created for a purpose and I want to help you discover what that is while helping you equip yourself better for it.

I am a master’s level licensed clinical mental health counselor (LMHC), (LPC) and credentialed SUD Counselor (CASAC-A) (CADC II) with training and expertise in both Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as psychodynamic treatment. I work with young adults and adults and have expertise in treating patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, compulsive, addictive behaviors and domestic violence. I have specialized training in various evidence-based treatments for trauma such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I hope to help patients learn effective ways to cope with stress, manage difficult emotions and communicate well with others.
We have all acquired ways of coping that get in the way of our development, and manifest as emotional pain, such as anxiety and depression. I work with clients to identify and reduce these painful symptoms. Clients are then freer to use their energy in pursuit of their goals. I work with young, midlife, and older adults. I develop a safe and collaborative relationship with clients. In that context, I do short and long-term psychotherapy and train clients to use specific protocols to modify symptoms that are in the way of personal and professional functioning. My approach provides support, guidance, and education to help you become the best version of yourself and work towards achieving your goals. I consider it an honor to work alongside you, and I look forward to meeting you soon.

Going through life existing but not living, screaming on the inside but displaying a different image on the outside can feel conflicting.
At times, you may have felt extremely fragile; as if the pressure of one more thing could break you into a million pieces.
Over the years, I've worked with clients who have struggled with going through the motions and taking every opportunity to numb their feelings for a moment of peace.
It's not easy being different and it's not easy using your voice. It actually may feel very lonely, conflicting, and heavy at times.
There's no path forward unless you truly know who you are.

Hi, I am Crystal and I am here to help!
HOW? I help regular people just like YOU re-focus on what is truly important to you by embarking with you on a therapeutic journey of self-awareness. Together we will develop a treatment plan that will help us reach your desired outcomes. I have found that incorporating the arts into therapy is quite beneficial since sometimes words can not capture our emotions as intensely or as accurately as a song or piece of art can. I also love to use mindfulness and bibliotherapy with clients and have been amazed at the success of using all of these approaches.
You have taken the first step towards your new life already by researching which led you here. Won't you take that next step and connect today so that we can begin your journey? Change is hard, but I will be here to support you every step of the way!

Hi! Are you searching for more meaning & purpose in your life? Unsure where to start? Are you stressed, depressed, having difficulties at work, or at home, or in your social life? You may be coming to therapy because you’re tired of pretending…of struggling…of trying so hard, but continually getting the same results!
I can help you gain control over anxiety, grief, depression, and feelings of hopelessness. My approach to supportive talk-therapy is that you truly already have within you the answers you seek. My responsibility is to help you find your inner strength & wisdom, and then to support you as you learn to clearly express the truth of who you really are. Your responsibility in therapy is to be honest and courageous! I will create a space where you feel safe enough to let your walls down and from there you can find balance, peace, joy, and even freedom from self-imposed and unkind negative thinking.
It may be different to think of putting your needs before others, but if you examine “selfishness” as “wise” or “foolish”, you will see how to use “wise selfishness” to develop a deeper compassionate relationship with yourself and others. (terms in parenthesis are excerpts from: The Book of Joy: Lasing Happiness in a Changing World; by His Holiness the Dali Lama, Desmund Tutu, et.al.)
Taking the first step toward therapy is huge! Yet, here you are, looking for a therapist that “fits”. Don’t stop now…day by day, in every way, you deserve to get better and better! Wherever you are is where we will begin. I’m empathetic and compassionate and work with valid tools and techniques that go beyond talk therapy. Let me support you as you navigate toward change. It would be my honor.

We all have certain stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, some helpful some not, and some of those stories aren't even ours. My goal is to help clients identify the unhelpful stories, where they came from, and help them create a new story. Sometimes that means reassessing boundaries or connecting with a part of ourselves we would rather ignore. Hi, I'm Terry. Are you looking for some relief? Are there things happening in your life that you never imagined?
They say over 80% of therapists and mental health workers have experienced their own mental health issues. With that being said, I have a history of anxiety and depression that I worked through gaining experience in coping skills and interventions. I have since gone back to school for my master's and doctoral degrees (working on licensure for doctorate). I have worked with individuals in the prison system, the state family and child ren departments, community care, crisis centers, and private practice. More recently, I am working with adult individuals with depression and anxiety due to the increase in these diagnoses since COVID-19.
I am also doing testing for memory problems which has allowed me to meet wonderful older adults who are working on the acceptance of growing older. Some have medical issues, some have neurological issues, and most are suffering significantly due to these problems. When you have someone to talk to about life's unforeseen and unfortunate occurrences, the problems seem surmountable. I know because I see my own therapist :)
I assign homework-not necessarily written! I encourage my clients to experiment with different interventions and coping skills to discover what works for them. It is exciting when we find something that works well, and we add it to our "toolbox." Come talk! Let's see what we can change....

I think one of the most important parts of therapy is finding the right "fit". That relationship is key in helping grow, trust and meet any goals that you might have going into the therapeutic process. Let me give you a glimpse of who I am!
I'm Amy, a LMHC, who has been in the counseling world for over 15 years and love what I get to do. I started my career in the community health sector which I learned so much and worked with diverse groups of people with an array of various needs. I have worked in school settings as well as in homes. I have been deep within the community in many of my roles along the way.
I have developed many techniques along the way as not one intervention will work for everyone. Some of the modalities I use are EMDR, CBT, Motivational interviewing, solution-focused techniques as well as a combination of these.
I meet people where they are, maybe having to learn how they are even feeling let alone how to cope with that feeling. Maybe we have a tool, but if no one ever took the time to teach us, then what good is that tool?

My name is Angela Thornell, a Licensed Professional Counselor, authorized to treat clients in both Texas and in Georgia. I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, and my expertise is related to working with adults that experience issues with both substance use and the common mental health issues that commonly co-occur. More specifically I specialize with helping clients understand the purpose drugs and alcohol have served in their lives so they can learn better ways of coping with issues that commonly follow - depression, anxiety, and trauma that lead to low self worth, no motivation, sleeplessness, overthinking, and low self esteem. Together, we will work to reduce your inner critic, reduce your shame, and heal your pain. My goal is to assist people in working towards fulfilling their fullest potential through healing trauma and overcoming life's obstacles. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

Meaningful change can take place once we are able to acknowledge that change is needed. In my profession as a therapist, my goal is to help others achieve change, growth, and improved mental health in their lives.
It was during my own therapeutic experience many years ago where I learned the value of the journey to change and mental wellness. I would later decide to become an agent of change for others when I obtained my master’s in social work.
My passion is working with women to help them effectively manage their mental health. As a woman I understand the challenges with having several roles and the expectation of being perfect in each role. I assist my clients by empowering them to take their own journey of self-discovery that leads to learning, growing, and thriving.
My approach to the therapeutic process is person centered and focused as I believe clients are the experts of their own lives. My goal is to offer the support needed to facilitate the change and growth my clients seek.

Greetings all! My name is Angel.
Do you feel overwhelmed with the day-to-day and unsure of what you need to be happy? Are you living in the moment? Or are you living to get it done for your family, significant other and those emotionally interwined with you?
I empower high-functioning individuals caught up with nurturing and caregiving to reconnect with themselves and create intentional self-care plans. Together we can process what you need to create boundaries while prioritizing responsibilities that belong to you while respectfully releasing those that don't. We'll establish psychological safety, reassuring our time and space together is trustworthy and secure. The Strengths-Based perspective will be used to highlight the abilities within you because life has a way of disconnecting our awareness of how great we already are. This also gives us additional support to lean into when we align Solution Focused Brief Therapy as we create the intentional techniques to support what your mind, body and physical needs are to thrive at your best self.
Whether your overwhelm comes from depression, trauma or anxiety-inducing life experiences I am here to help. We all come from various life experiences, so respect for safe spaces is imperative for our journey to be successful. If therapy is new to you, WELCOME. If you are not new to therapy, WELCOME BACK. Therapy is a fluid engagement we all need as we grow! And let’s acknowledge good for you to be in tune with yourself to know there’s a need for change. The core to processing is comfort, so know that there will be respect, no judgment and a goal to continuously secure our sacred journey.
