Welcome! I'm Tierra. Look, I know starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time but here you are and I'm rooting for you! I am a dedicated licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and therapist committed to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based care. My work focuses on supporting individuals who have experienced domestic violence, self-esteem challenges, and grief. I strive to create a safe and affirming space where clients can process their experiences, heal from trauma, and rebuild their sense of self. Integrating various therapeutic approaches, I help clients navigate their emotions, develop coping strategies, and regain empowerment. My goal is to foster resilience, self-compassion, and meaningful transformation in their lives. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable. If you want a therapist who meets you where you are, listens without judgment, and works alongside you to create real, lasting change, I’d love to support you on your journey. Whether you're navigating the aftermath of trauma, rebuilding self-confidence, or processing loss, you don’t have to do it alone. Let's work together to help you heal, grow, and move forward.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll begin with brief introductions to establish a comfortable rapport and get to know each other. After that, we’ll dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. I want to understand what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns or obstacles you may be encountering. This initial conversation will help me get a clear picture of your unique situation, allowing me to create a tailored plan to guide our work together in follow-up sessions. The first session is a space for you to share openly and for us to set the foundation for building a meaningful, supportive therapeutic relationship moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my ability to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I approach each person with cultural humility and a deep respect for their unique experiences and perspectives. My ability to integrate different therapeutic approaches, such as trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and compassionate-focused strategies, allows me to tailor my interventions to each individual’s needs. I’m also committed to helping clients build tangible skills they can apply in their everyday lives, fostering both emotional healing and practical growth. My clients often appreciate my directness paired with warmth, as it helps them feel both supported and empowered to make positive changes.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with individuals who are in the process of navigating major life transitions, especially those who are recovering from domestic violence, grappling with self-esteem challenges, or dealing with grief. My clients often feel overwhelmed and stuck, unsure of how to process their experiences or move forward in their healing journey. They are motivated to improve their emotional well-being but may not yet have the tools or support to make that a reality. My clients are ready for transformation, and I’m here to help them take the necessary steps to move forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My experience with CBT has reinforced the importance of identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns. I have seen firsthand how restructuring thoughts can create meaningful behavioral change. In my practice, I use CBT techniques to help clients develop coping strategies, build resilience, and address maladaptive thinking in a structured and goal-oriented way.

Attachment-based

My therapeutic work in this area has helped me recognize the profound influence of early relationships on emotional well-being. I integrate attachment-based principles to help clients explore relational patterns, develop secure attachments, and address wounds from past relationships, particularly in the context of trauma and interpersonal struggles.

Christian Counseling

My experience with Christian counseling has provided me with a perspective on the role of faith in healing. While I respect and integrate spirituality when it is meaningful to the client, I want to emphasize that my role is not to convert or impose beliefs. Instead, I will offer faith-informed support when appropriate, always centering the client’s values and perspectives.

Compassion Focused

Engaging with CFT has taught me the power of self-compassion in overcoming shame, self-criticism, and emotional suffering. I incorporate CFT techniques to help clients cultivate kindness toward themselves, enhance emotional regulation, and build a sense of inner safety and acceptance.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

My own journey in therapy has reinforced the necessity of acknowledging cultural identities, systemic influences, and lived experiences. In my practice, I will prioritize cultural humility, ensuring that clients feel seen, understood, and validated in their unique sociocultural contexts. I will also remain committed to ongoing learning to provide equitable, affirming care.
