Welcome! I'm Tobi! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families. I want to first applaud you for taking the leap to get support for your next chapter! You've made the leap in deciding on therapy, now let's keep the momentum with finding a therapist that is right for you, right now! I especially work with clients to explore recurring challenges related to anxiety, PTSD, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients identify maladaptive patterns, develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. I strive to personalize and facilitate systematic, strategic, and effective support plans for individuals to achieve what they believe (or don't believe is possible) after a series of setbacks or interpersonal challenges. I am a goal-oriented clinician who comes alongside my clients to discover or re-discover the self that may have gotten muddled along the way. When feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, unexpected transitions, and low energy to overcome mental health challenges or setbacks, I fervently adopt the coach and modeling posture that will help you to learn and use adaptive mental health tools that will promote renewal, clarity, and rhythmic motivation to take control of your whole health and wellness journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will ask questions out of curiosity and eagerness as a human being wanting to connect to another human being. I will ask you what brings you to therapy and if there are any present pressing matters that you would like your therapist to know. Before the session ends, I will ask you specifically what you would like to get out of therapy in a few words. This will help me create a customized-tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a mixed population from 4-years-old to 65-years-old in the last 5 years, I have become well versed in tuning in to my clients needs according to their current stage of life. I work from a collaborative and restorative therapy style that instills hope in every session for my clients. I am fervent about what I believe is possible for anyone brave enough to journey with mental health therapist. I am my client's coach and cheerleader. I use the self of the therapist in the therapeutic alliance and eagerly invite my clients to permit their whole self to be present in the process of healing, recovery, and long-term wellness. My clients can expect as much compassion as they can expect challenges when appropriate for their treatment goals and identified personal development in therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My clients tend to receive the challenge of stepping into the space of therapy with courage and gentle candor. I invite clients to say what they are thinking, when they are thinking it, and how they are thinking it. I am best positioned to serve clients who tend to coat the reality of their pain or discomfort with rationalization or self-sacrificial patterns for the "common good." I love working with clients who are ready to do something different when it comes to their mental health wellness and wholeness. I tend to work with adults who want to confront the direct impact of their trauma(s) to live a freer life with peace of mind and less tension in their relationships. With humor and genuine connection, I invite my clients to partake in the human connection we all crave with an intentional gradual process of building the therapeutic alliance. My clients tend to soak in the humor and relaxing atmosphere of therapy as they get more comfortable with exploring uncomfortable subject matters or events.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use evidence-based techniques to support my clients when making mind-body connections. I utilize experiential modalities to guide the implementation of cognitive tools that help the client to discover new ways of thinking and doing toward both treatment and personal goal achievements.

Family Therapy

An integrative, holistic, and systemic framework that applies Restorative Therapy, (Trauma Informed) Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Strategic Therapy, to guide the healing journey of clients and their families. Each client is provided with the psychoeducation necessary to cultivate a sense of individuation while exploring the direct effect of family systems on each individual.

Experiential Therapy

I empower clients to implement what works in the moment. I encourage clients to work collaboratively on evaluating outcomes and adapting to new responses that can yield adaptive holistic results (mental, physical, and spiritual).
