Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) in Georgia and have been in practice for the past 4 years. I enjoy working with young adults and adults with anxiety and depression. I also enjoy working with individuals struggling with life transitions(i.e. switching jobs, loss of a role, marriage, divorce, entering college, graduating, transitioning into adulthood, moving, etc.). Life can be tough, and I provide a safe space to process the difficulties life may bring. Life is tough, but so are you! Let's embrace the journey together!
In our first session, I will take time to explain what the therapy process will look like and answer any questions causing concerns. I will build rapport with you and we will review issues bringing you to therapy. We will begin to build and plan and identify goals we want to achieve in therapy.
As your therapist, I will provide a nonjudgmental, warm environment where you, as the client, have a chance to truly focus on you and your journey. I provide a safe space to focus on personal goals through processing the root to your problems and issues and identifying healthy thinking patterns and behaviors to improve overall quality of life.
I love working with young adults just emerging into adulthood and young adults. During this emerging time in life, it is full of different transitions. Oftentimes when someone enters transitions in life they experience feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious and even depression. In treatment, we will have a chance to process these different thoughts and feelings, identifing solutions and ways to cope.
When using the Person-centered approach in therapy, clients will be presented with a nonjudgmental environment that focuses on them. In my experience using the person centered approach, clients are able to identify and focus on personal goals and discovers their own solutions to the problems and issues being presented in therapy.
I have used Cognitive Behavior Therapy within my practice. In using CBT time in sessions are spent identifying unhelpful and unhealthy ways of thinking, feelings and behaviors and begin to use self help strategies. with problems and issues being presented.
