I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, teens, and families. I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues. I started my career working in child welfare where I worked alongside parents to help them become the best versions of themselves as individuals and as parents. I am experienced in working with parents and teens and helping each person improve those familial relationships. For over a decade, I had the honor of working in medical settings with individuals coping with and adjusting to a new chronic and/or terminal disease diagnosis and with their families as they grapple with their new normal. I have facilitated grief support groups for those who have lost a loved one or experienced a different type of loss. Processing grief is very important and looks different for each individual. I enjoy partnering with clients in finding their way back to joy and purpose after a loss. It is a huge step to seek out therapy. I look forward to meeting you and helping you become the healthiest version of yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, we will get to know each other. I will answer any questions that you might have about therapy and explain my approach to helping you overcome any current struggles. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and heard. My hope is that you walk away feeling understood and as if you have guidance toward your next step.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I am very solution focused and client-centered. I take a casual approach to significant change for each and every person. My many years of experience have taught me how to create a comfortable space for clients to be truly vulnerable and authentic.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been successfully using CBT with clients for many years. If we can challenge or shift the way that we are thinking, we often find that our emotions will follow. CBT can be very helpful for those struggling with anxiety and/or depression, but it is also useful for those struggling with life transitions or coping with an illness.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been through the foundational training for DBT and find that the skills taught are useful for almost everyone. I regularly ask clients to practice DBT skills in their day to day lives.
