Hi! I'm a licensed mental health clinician (LPC) based in Georgia. I received my Master's from South University in 2016, and have been practicing since. Whether life's challenges seem overwhelming, or you desire self-improvement and exploration, I can help you achieve your goals. I specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship strengths and problems, stress, trauma, mood instability, grief, and older adults. I believe in the beauty of mental wellness! I know life is hard. I appreciate your willingness to reach out for help and have hope for a better tomorrow.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will talk about why you are seeking therapy now, what your day-to-day support system looks like, and the goals you hope to achieve. I use a client-centered approach, and accept you where you are at. Viktor E. Frankl states "The last of one’s freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstance.” I don't believe happiness is a choice possible to make every moment; sometimes it's just too hard. However, I do believe in implementing steps to build habits to reach a more enjoyable daily experience. In our first session we'll discuss a plan to reach your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a mental health provider is a deep desire to help others, for equality, and to see your happiness level improve. I've spent the past 8 years meeting client needs in acute settings, which exposed me to many case studies and treatment methods. Mental health counseling is my second career. I spent 10 years in magazine publishing, which also gave me a lot of exposure to people from different walks of life. When I'm not seeing clients, you can find me hiking, scuba diving, gardening, doing yoga, or volunteering with our local youth orchestra. Coming from different backgrounds helps me understand the whole you. I will be compassionate as I assess your needs, and include you in decisions of how we proceed in treatment strategies.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

It takes courage to meet someone new and discuss your personal issues. Just the fact that you are searching for help lets me know you have a desire to change. I can help you realize blocks that hold you back - whether unconscious, from childhood, or undeniably in your face - and find ways to make the challenges you face manageable and sometimes turn those challenges into a building block for strength.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps identify unhelpful or false thoughts and ideas that influence your daily relationships and activities, and ultimately your life goals. By challenging thoughts that are not useful to your growth, emotional health, and success, you can achieve a higher level of mental wellness and calm in daily activites.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy offers wonderful tools to help your mind slow down when it feels frantic. I am not officially DBT certified, but do use the tools of the workbook and principles to address mood instability, grief, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, depression, and anger.

Strength-Based

You are the reason I am here, and identifying your strengths and building your narrative in a positive way is rewarding. I use a client-centered approach that bases your therapy specifically around your needs.
