My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients build on their strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I provide counseling for adults & teen boys exclusively. I also provide personal and professional coaching. I love what I do and got into this field to add value to people's lives the best way I could, with my mind and my words. Hey! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. I received my Masters from the University of North Florida and have practiced for 4 years. I help anyone ranging from young adults to adults in their later years struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses. In sessions, we will work together to identify common thinking traps and their influence on stress, anxiety, and depression. Therapy is a collaborative process. It is a space where we focus on you and it can be whatever you want it to be. You know your life better than anyone else will. Together, we can look back and identify growth areas, process trauma, and gain the tools we need to achieve our goals. This involves incorporating coping skills, self-care, and mindfulness techniques to disrupt a cycle of stress, anxiety, and depression.

I’m Michelle (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Central Florida.    Central Florida has been my home for over 15 years. I attended University of Central Florida where I completed both a Bachelors and Masters of Social Work.  During my Masters, I also specialized in Military Social Work and received training in Play Therapy.  Since then, I have gone on to work with families and youth, strengthening relationships, overcoming trauma (particularly sexual trauma), and building their self- worth. I have 6 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker where I have been able to utilize my bilingual skills specifically with adolescents and their families. Along with acquiring skills in expressive therapies, therapy outdoors,  as well as superhero therapy to utilize fandom and creativity to help clients reach their Better Tomorrow. Currently I am an MSTI Florida Certified Sex Therapist. I am a mother, a wife, a survivor, and like you I am flawed.  Each of us is on a journey of self growth and discovery and I would love to be a part of yours.

I am an NYU clinically trained therapist specializing in trauma, substance abuse, depression, eating disorders, Family systems therapy and anxiety. I have over 15 years of experience working with clients who experience a broad range of challenges. I have specialized experience working with Veterans, First Responders, and Law Enforcement Officers. Born into a family of first responders and military I have a special understanding of the culture and hesitancy to reach out for help. As a professional, I utilize strength-based and trauma focused approaches. I believe in empowering my clients in developing coping skills and self-awareness to increase self-esteem and confidence to create a positive change. Resiliency and self efficacy is the goal and we all have it within us. Sometimes we just need to find a way to tap into it. I have over three decades of experience as a husband, father, grandfather, youth pastor, counselor and university professor. I have worked in the church, private practice (in Florida and the Bahamas), community mental health (specializing in crisis and families with at-risk-adolescents), foster care, substance abuse, juvenile justice and the prisons. I have maintained my relevance by teaching at the university level, advising a best-selling author on the psychological aspects of his book, and serving as a consultant to other mental health agencies. I have wonderful experience working with anxiety, depression, anger, parenting issues, challenging children and teenagers, grief, trauma, substance use issues, family and relationship issues, LGBT issues, and other issues and concerns. I have helped my clients find peace with themselves, with others and in their situations. I have helped my clients find happiness, even amid loss. I have helped my clients find belonging and love in healthy and supportive relationships. I have helped my clients increase their ability to succeed by changing their thinking. One of the foundations of my life and my work was written by M. Scott Peck in The Road Less Travelled. He wrote, “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths… Life is a series of problems. Do we want to moan about them or solve them?
