Welcome! If you are seeking a down to earth and relaxed therapist- you are in the right place! I specialize in creating a safe and affirming space for individuals within the LGBTQ+ communities- where I have lived experience, any individuals navigating chronic illness and caregiving, and folks impacted by hoarding behaviors. I understand how important it is to feel heard and validated, especially when dealing with sensitive topics such as anxiety, chronic disorganization, gender identity, transgender health, trauma, depression, boundary setting, communication skills, and more. I write letters of support for gender affirming care.
I am a licensed psychotherapist, sex educator, and creative committed to helping clients navigate mental health, relationships, sexuality, and identity with honesty and care. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and trauma-informed practices with a sex-positive, culturally responsive lens. I create space where healing, pleasure, and personal growth can co-exist.
Many Black men carry responsibility, emotion, and expectation without having a space to process what they’re carrying. Over time, this can show up as stress, anger, anxiety, or feeling worn down. I provide individual therapy for Black men and for adolescents who need a space where they are understood. I also help parents and caregivers — especially those raising Black and Brown boys and families in blended or co-parenting systems — build clarity, connection, and consistent discipline. My approach is relational, culturally informed, and focused on helping you understand patterns, reduce overwhelm, and strengthen your family system.

Hello, I'm Mitchell. Since 2017, I've had the privilege of helping individuals work through mental health, substance use, and life challenges in a variety of settings. My professional experience includes substance use disorder treatment, working with military veterans in VA primary care, and supporting individuals living with severe mental illness in forensic group homes.
What I enjoy most about this field is the opportunity to help people move toward healthier, more fulfilling lives. I'm continually fascinated by what we learn about the connections between the brain, emotions, and behavior, and I believe that staying curious and committed to growth allows me to better serve the people who place their trust in me.
I am currently only accepting female clients. My journey to becoming a mental health counselor is built on a foundation of professional dedication and a deep understanding of human resilience. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my approach is centered on trauma-informed care and psychodynamic principles, but my perspective is uniquely shaped by over two decades of firsthand experience in high-stress, high-stakes environments.
Before entering the world of clinical practice, I served our nation in the U.S. Army and later dedicated myself to public service as a law enforcement officer. These experiences instilled in me an unparalleled sense of discipline, a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and, most importantly, a profound appreciation for the immense psychological burden that accompanies a life of service. My lived experience allows me to connect with clients in a way that academic training alone cannot, fostering a level of trust and authenticity that is critical for true healing.
My therapeutic style is collaborative and person-centered. I am committed to helping my clients not just manage their symptoms, but to truly understand their root causes. Using an in-depth psychodynamic approach, we will work together to explore how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be shaping your present thoughts and behaviors. The goal is to gain deep self-awareness, empowering you to break old cycles and build a more resilient and fulfilling future.
While my background gives me a unique understanding of veterans, first responders, and their families, my practice is open to anyone navigating life’s most challenging experiences. I believe that every individual has an innate capacity for healing, and my role is to provide the support, insight, and practical tools to help you on your journey.
I am here to be a trusted partner in your path toward emotional well-being and personal peace.

I went to school at Palm Beach Atlantic University for both my undergrad and masters education. Palm Beach Atlantic University is a Christian University and I feel grateful to have attended this school as it has created the person I am today. Jesus is the great counselor and I believe that we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
I have been working in the counseling field for 8 years and have been licensed for 4 of those years. I have worked with an array of issues not limited to family conflict, relationship issues, communication, drugs and alcohol, anger, stress, coping skills and many other life issues.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a modality that I primarily work with and at times borrows from other modalities when it is fit. My goal is to build a real, raw and positive relationship while being compassionate and empathetic. I will be sensitive but also direct in my efforts to help you find solutions to your current and/or past issues. I also believe that incorporating the use of coping skills, boundaries and communication will increase the quality of life as well as the quality of relationships.
I believe all interactions are the beginning of potential flourishing relationships. With that said, I think that as we grow in counselor and client relationships, this very relationship will better help you with your relationships with family, friends and co-workers.
I am excited to meet you and to work with you as you learn new ways to live your very best life! Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist nearing 20 years’ experience, I work with a foundation of Solution Focus and Systemic Therapy. I'm fairly casual but have been told I "Clean up well", and clients have told me in the past they appreciate that I do not come across as "stuffy".
I'm often daydreaming of going on cruises with my wife and occasionally think about bringing our children as well. I treasure a long nap in a hammock, and I love movie. Once upon a time I even submitted a short film to the Cannes Film Festival (wasn't selected) but I did enter. Prior to being a therapist, I found myself listening and caring, as people would end up just talking to me and telling me their life story. I decided I should put that to good use. Additionally, growing up my family was fortunate to be able to adopt and quickly we became a larger family that could not remember when my sister was not part of the family. Through the process, I realized how important family and relationships.
I appreciate and look forward to the chance to help others get through the rough patches, when life hits hard. When the answer is not easily found, we take time to look at all the options and find something, at least one step towards better. We're not looking for perfection, just looking for progress, a little bit here and there.
*** Writing animal support letters or ESA documentation, disability-related paperwork, court-mandated evaluations, divorce or custody agreement related paperwork would be out of the scope of my practice, therefore is not something I engage in at this time.
