My name is Simone Sertorio; LMHC. My growth as a learner is demonstrated through independent coursework, certification programs, and applied training experiences. My growth as a collaborator, is reflected in my initiative to become a certified yoga teacher and intentionally integrate wellness-based strategies into clinical practice. My approach is warm, ad tailored to each clients unique experience as I create a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions safely. During our initial appointment, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your main concerns, and the areas you would like to work on. I plan to go over some feelings and behavior charts to gauge a clear understanding of your unique experiences and needs.
My continued professional learning in different modalities of Cognitive Behavior Therapy , mindfulness based interventions has enhance my ability to recognize patterns, adjust interventions, and better support client progress. Many of the clients I serve experience ongoing adversity, trauma, and anxiety each requires me to be well versed in a variety of evidenced based interventions and strategies.
I prefer to work with young adults. I process emotional needs, identifying maladaptive beliefs, developing coping strategies—aiming at a brief-solution focused result. Examples of client goals to demonstrate progress are, increase of emotional regulation, improve insight into thoughts and behaviors, and greater ability to cope with stress and trauma related responses. As a therapist, my job is to implement the plan set in place with programs to be worked with the client. I use supportive tools to track progress: continuously of each task completed in treatment. I modify and update the treatment plan to meet the client's needs based on age and therapeutic modality for their therapy goals.
