I received my Master's degree from Louisiana State University and have been practicing for 9 years. I help adults ages 18+ struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, schizophrenia, psychosis, relationship issues, divorce, general mental health, PTSD, mood disorders, Bi-polar, personality disorders, suicidal ideations, self-harm, grief/loss, life transitions, anger management and many other mental health challenges to become the best versions of themselves. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, CPT, DBT, ACT, Interpersonal, Narrative, Supportive, Compassionate, Grief, and various others depending on your needs. I became a social worker because I want to help people feel better about themselves and their lives. I no longer wanted to be "just an employee" and work for a large organization. I have diligently studied the understanding of the amygdala in the brain and how the amygdala and hippocampus interprets emotional, physical, and sexual abuse that can keep a person feeling that they can't break free from the negative memories of their past. Also, these painful memories will continue to remind individuals of the traumatic event(s) they went through. Remember, you're not alone and you are valuable. The trainings that I've received can move you forward toward your life goals and the good news is that you and I working together to reduce the negative thoughts and feelings you have had to suffer through. This helps you to understand certain types of thinking patterns and behavior reactions the human brain does and how you can reduce and stop those type of negative feelings as you move forward with healing.
