In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I specialize in the latest strategies for couples counseling, trauma, and anxiety interventions. My approach is integrative, including Adlerian, Gestalt, psychodynamic as well as TF-CBT and REBT. IRL sessions in Ormond Beach. Telehealth throughout Florida.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Therapy is in my blood. I am blessed that I found my calling a very young age. It gives me great pleasure to help couples connect again or to see a client start to build communication skills. We are all under constant stress and I enjoy helping people reduce and eliminate stressful behaviors.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are couples who want to stay together but struggle with communication deficits and toxic role modeling. My ideal individual client is someone who wants to live authentically but lacks the awareness or time or tools to develop a plan. I am comfortable with most people I've worked with and thoroughly enjoy helping people thrive. I feel lucky that I found my calling early in life.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

Over the past five years in my private practice, I’ve consistently integrated trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) into my clinical work with clients who have experienced a range of traumatic events. My approach combines evidence-based TF-CBT principles with individualized treatment planning, allowing me to tailor interventions to each client’s developmental level, cultural background, and specific trauma history. In practice, I guide clients through the core components of TF-CBT, including psychoeducation, emotional regulation skills, cognitive processing, and gradual exposure through trauma narratives. I place strong emphasis on helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while building coping strategies to manage distressing symptoms such as anxiety, avoidance, and intrusive memories.

Adlerian

Adlerian principals are central to my counseling approach. Including early childhood experiences, feelings of inferiority and striving for significance, interest, connection with others, lifestyle beliefs, (how someone sees themselves and the world).

Psychodynamic

In the past seven years, I have integrated principles of Psychodynamic Therapy into my clinical practice to support clients in developing deeper self-awareness and lasting emotional change. My work has focused on helping individuals explore unconscious processes, early relational patterns, and internal conflicts that shape present-day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have consistently used techniques such as identifying recurring interpersonal patterns, and facilitating insight into how past experiences influence current functioning.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my clinical practice, I have integrated Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop greater psychological flexibility and align their behaviors with personal values. I use ACT principles to support clients in noticing and accepting difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding or struggling against them. Through mindfulness and present-moment awareness exercises, I help clients build a different relationship with internal experiences, reducing the impact of distressing thoughts.

Couples Counseling

Over the past decade, I have engaged in extensive couples therapy across a range of clinical settings, including agency-based services and private practice. This longitudinal experience reflects sustained work with diverse client populations presenting with relational distress, communication challenges, attachment injuries, and life transitions. Within agency settings, my work has often involved high-need couples navigating complex psychosocial stressors such as financial instability, trauma histories, co-parenting conflicts, and systemic barriers to care. These environments required a flexible, resource-informed approach, integrating brief, solution-focused interventions with evidence-based modalities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Emphasis was placed on accessibility, crisis stabilization, and culturally responsive care. In private practice, my work has allowed for deeper, longer-term engagement with couples seeking to enhance relational satisfaction, rebuild trust, and foster emotional intimacy. Treatment has drawn from integrative modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailored to the unique dynamics of each partnership. This setting has supported more nuanced exploration of attachment patterns, communication styles, and interpersonal schemas.
