My name is Carlos Izquierdo, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I work with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and other difficulties that may leave them feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I believe that many psychological struggles are not signs of something being “wrong” with us, but rather the result of patterns and strategies that may have once served a purpose but are no longer helping us move forward. Therapy can provide an opportunity to understand these patterns, develop new perspectives, and discover more effective ways of responding to life’s challenges. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative space where you can explore what is holding you back, recognize your strengths, and develop more flexible and creative ways of navigating difficult situations. I see challenges not simply as problems to eliminate, but as opportunities for greater self-understanding, personal growth, and meaningful change.

My mission is to inspire others to live their purpose. For over 30 years, I have counseled individuals, couples and families with their relationships. The #1 relationship problem goes beyond communication. It is learning to resolve conflict and becoming stronger through it. It is about accepting differences as different and not wrong. Whether you just want a stronger relationship or you are in a crisis and do not know which way to turn, the only thing holding you back holding right now is probably fear. Ask yourself: What would love do? It is important for us to have conscious relationships so that our children will have a better chance of being successful in their own relationships. Otherwise we will watch them repeat our mistakes. Do it for you; do it for them. My education is in psychology, counseling psychology, spirituality and hundreds if not thousands of hours in continuing education on multiple additional topics.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply ready for change, we’ll work together to better understand what’s going on and identify practical steps forward. Seeking support is a courageous step, and you don’t have to figure things out alone. My goal is to help you gain clarity, develop resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I am caring, compassionate, and a very good listener. I am a Christian, wife of a Veteran, mother, and grandmother. My heritage is Caribbean-American. I grew up in South Florida with four sisters and two brothers. I was very independent at a very young age and willing to help out wherever. I am a musician starting with piano in elementary school, then clarinet in middle school, and bass clarinet and bassoon in high school. I love music and find it beneficial in every aspect of life. I decided to grow my family before pursuing a career. I decided to pursue a career in the mental health field because of a family member being diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder. I earned my AA in Psychology, then a dual degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science. After my undergrad, I went on to receive my master's in social work. I have worked with Veterans, homeless, hospice, young adults, children, elders, couples and individuals with severe mental health diagnoses. In my pursuit to help my family member, I became even more passionate about mental health and reducing the negative stigma attached to it. This passion I share with everyone I encounter.

Hi, I’m Bernadette — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should feel safe, supportive, and genuinely helpful. My style is warm, down‑to‑earth, and collaborative. I’m the kind of therapist who listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, and gives you practical tools you can use in real life. I’m not here to judge or lecture; I’m here to walk alongside you as you learn, grow, and build the confidence to navigate life’s challenges. Clients often tell me they feel comfortable with me quickly because I’m approachable, honest, and easy to talk to. I bring a balance of compassion and structure to every session. You’ll always know you have a space where your feelings matter, your experiences are respected, and your goals guide our work. My background includes extensive training in trauma‑informed care, CBT, DBT, and family‑systems approaches. I support children, teens, adults, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, relationship stress, low self‑esteem, or major life transitions. I also have a strong passion for working with neurodivergent clients and families, offering an affirming space where strengths are recognized and supported. My own life experiences — growing up in a close family, learning the importance of communication, and navigating my own seasons of growth — shape the way I show up as a therapist. I understand what it feels like to carry a lot, to want to do well, and to feel overwhelmed by expectations. That’s why I focus on helping clients build emotional clarity, healthier patterns, and practical coping skills that truly make a difference. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or your family, my goal is to help you feel grounded, capable, and supported as you work toward meaningful, lasting change.

I'm a psychotherapist with 35-plus years of experience. After completing training in clinical social work and psychology at the University of Maryland (M.S.W., 1988) and Saybrook Institute (Ph.D., 1991), I began practicing as a family, couples and individual therapist. I have hosted on radio/podcasts, have written two books and thousands of self-help articles in my "Life's a Beach" column for nationwide Gannett media. I love working with clients in the here-and-now, and finding solutions to move forward with life. My primary goal is to help you help yourself. I will guide and coach you, not tell you what to do. Diagnostic labels are useful at times, but you are not your labels. I'm your thinking partner: We'll reason and think our way to what makes sense together.

I have been a practicing social worker for more than 30 years . Much of this experience has been working in a large public teaching hospital in Miami, Florida. The scope of service that the hospital provides is quite comprehensive which afforded me opportunities to work with a very diverse population . i have counseled patients and their families dealing with a variety of illnesses, both physical and mental health, survivors of sexual assault, and also providing counseling to patients in a correctional setting. I like challenging situations. My style of counseling is very eclectic, depends on the client and their unique set of problems. This can range from client centered, solution oriented or cognitive behavioral as many people are coming to therapy to learn new ways of thinking and alternative coping strategies. For the past two years, I have been involved in teletherapy providing psychotherapy to clients that are experiencing such problems as anxiety, depression, employment, relationship, and interpersonal difficulties. Also I have been providing counseling to teenagers dealing with the above issues and involving their parents when indicated.

Because sleep quality is critical to physical and mental health I am passionate about helping people get good sleep. I received my PhD from Duke University and have been a practicing psychologist for several decades. I work primarily with behavioral sleep medicine because sleep problems are so widespread, and there are not enough specialists to meet the need. I have published several articles and a book on sleep and am the director of the insomnia course for the World Sleep Academy, as well as a member of the Outreach and Public Education Committee, Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. I continue working with people with anxiety, depression, and couples issues on a limited basis. The methods I use are evidence-based and trauma-informed. I am also an ordained member of the clergy (rabbi) and consider one's spirituality an important part of treatment for many, though not all, people. I’ve practiced telehealth exclusively since early 2020. Most people appreciate working this way because of convenience. Therapy is not adversely affected, and I am even able to do hypnotherapy via telehealth.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating at any stage of life. Whether you are a teenager navigating the challenges of adolescence or an adult managing life's responsibilities and transitions, seeking support is a courageous step. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is welcoming, compassionate, and free from judgment, where you can safely explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe therapy is more than just talking—it can be a place to laugh, reflect, learn, heal, and grow. My approach is personalized to meet the unique needs of each individual. For adolescents, I incorporate creative and engaging interventions, including art, games, and interactive activities, to encourage self-expression, emotional awareness, and healthy coping skills. For adults, I provide a supportive environment to process challenges, build resilience, and work toward meaningful goals. The teenage years can bring challenges related to identity, friendships, family relationships, academic pressures, self-esteem, anxiety, and emotional well-being. Adults often face stressors related to careers, relationships, parenting, life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, and balancing responsibilities. Regardless of age or circumstance, everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported. I believe each person has a unique story, and my role is to listen, understand, and help them build on their strengths. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in a practical, down-to-earth way, helping clients recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Together, we identify goals, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward positive change. As a clinician, I am honest, transparent, open-minded, and approachable. Whether you are an adolescent finding your voice or an adult seeking support through life's complexities, I am committed to walking alongside you with empathy, encouragement, and respect. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting your journey toward growth and healing.

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) since 2014. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting adults through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, grief, and major life transitions. After years of providing in-person therapy, I transitioned to fully virtual care in 2020. This shift allowed me to offer more accessible, flexible, and private telehealth services to adults across Florida and Vermont, meeting clients where they are—literally and emotionally. My clinical work is deeply informed by both training and lived experience. In my own life, I’ve navigated grief, significant life transitions, and having had cancer twice. While these experiences are not the focus of my work, they have shaped the way I show up as a therapist: grounded, present, and deeply respectful of the complexity of what people carry. I understand that healing is not linear, and that strength often looks like simply getting through the day. I work with adults who are experiencing emotional overwhelm, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, trauma responses, and health-related challenges. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but internally feeling stuck, exhausted, or disconnected from themselves. My approach is collaborative, practical, and paced to your readiness. I draw from evidence-based modalities including CBT, mindfulness-based strategies, trauma-informed care, and person-centered therapy. Together, we focus on building insight while also developing real-world coping tools that support meaningful change. Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or push through alone. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or sensing that something needs to shift, this can be a steady place to begin rebuilding clarity, resilience, and emotional balance.

Hi, I’m Nicole, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over two decades of experience helping children and families. I became a therapist because I believe that everyone deserves a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported through life’s challenges. I work with children and adults experiencing anxiety, navigating big life changes, or healing from trauma. My approach is warm, collaborative and I tailor each session to your unique needs. I’m passionate about helping people build resilience, find clarity, and create meaningful change in their lives. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Florida Atlantic University, and my own journey as a trauma survivor has deeply shaped both my understanding and my approach to therapy. I bring empathy, warmth, and a nonjudgmental presence to every session, because I know firsthand how powerful it can be to feel truly heard and supported. My goal is to help you move beyond simply surviving to genuinely thriving. I use evidence-based techniques—including mindfulness, CBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused interventions, and person-centered therapy—tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Hello! I am a LCSW licensed in Florida. I have 22 years experience in the field and 16 years post graduate from USF. When I share my personal journey to becoming a LCSW I always say this field chose me. The experiences I have had in this field are truly awe inspiring and life changing. I hope that through the connections I make with each client, that they leave feeling empowered and inspired that they can lead the life they desire and deserve. I have experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, military related trauma. I also have experience with chronic illness and death and dying. I am passionate about creating a safe and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals. I have worked with all ages during my career. I currently focus on working with adults. I currently offer Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I have chosen these modalities as they focus less on the problem and more on the solution and where you would like to be. They are empowerment based, placing you as the expert in the treatment room and of your own life. I am there merely as a guide to help you uncover your own potential and strengths. I look forward to working with you.

I navigate client relationships by first listening carefully to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives. From there, I establish clear expectations, maintain transparent communication throughout the process, and provide proactive updates and solutions. Hi, I’m Susan—a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addictions Professional, and Substance Abuse Professional. I hold a master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Florida and have been working in the mental health and substance abuse field since 2009 (licensed since 2012). My approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and real partnership. I work as hard as you do to help you return to your best self. After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore, I relocated to South Florida. After several years practicing law, I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my career helping others from a behavioral health perspective. After two years treating clients in a chemical dependency hospital, followed by a long-term substance use facility, I served as a behavioral health counselor for several years at a local high school.

I bring over 20 years of experience working with individuals across all ages—adults, young adults, teens, and children. Throughout my career, I’ve supported people navigating a wide range of challenges, including trauma, faith-related concerns, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, substance use, men’s issues, self-esteem struggles, decision-making difficulties, and grief and loss. My path into counseling began with a master’s degree in pastoral counseling. Over time, I felt called to serve a broader community, which led me to pursue a second master’s degree in counseling psychology. This training allows me to integrate both clinical expertise and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe healing happens when you feel genuinely heard, supported, and safe. My primary goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about the parts of your life that feel heavy, confusing, or painful—without judgment or pressure. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring them to your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll identify what feels most helpful for you and build a path forward that supports your growth, clarity, and well-being.

After obtaining a Master's in marriage and family therapy, I have worked in private practice and nonprofit organizations, fostering a safe and supportive space for individuals, couples, and families to heal, grow, and build stronger connections. I have experience providing services to individuals, couples, and families, with an array of mental health and emotional issues ranging from depression, anxiety, infidelity, communication, self-esteem, family conflict, parenting, and ADHD. Experiencing challenges could be overwhelming, draining, and lonely at times, which is why I believe that as a therapist the most important tool I can offer is being present and genuinely caring for the wellbeing of those seeking help.
