New to Grow
Hi, I’m Patrice, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 36 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adults who feel overwhelmed on the inside but are still managing to function on the outside. If you find yourself stuck in your thoughts, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is practical, supportive, and tailored to you. I use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness strategies to help you feel more grounded, clear, and in control. Together, we’ll focus on understanding what’s happening beneath the surface and creating realistic, meaningful changes that improve your daily life.
Our first session is a chance for us to understand what’s been weighing on you and what you’d like to change. You can share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to have everything figured out. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to get a clear picture of your experiences, and we’ll begin identifying your main concerns and goals. By the end of the session, you’ll have a better sense of direction and what working together can look like moving forward.
One of my greatest strengths is helping you move from feeling overwhelmed or stuck to having a clear sense of direction. I’m able to identify patterns that may be contributing to your stress and help you understand them in a way that feels manageable and practical. I focus on helping you apply what we talk about in real, everyday situations so you can start seeing progress outside of sessions. My goal is for you to feel more organized in your thinking, less emotionally reactive, and more confident in how you handle challenges.
I work best with adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or constant overthinking, especially when it begins to impact their mood, relationships, or work. Many of my clients are high-functioning and responsible, but internally feel exhausted or mentally “on” all the time. I also support individuals going through life transitions such as career stress, burnout, relationship changes, grief, or identity shifts. If you’re trying to make sense of what you’re experiencing and figure out what comes next, I can help guide that process. My approach is a good fit for clients who are ready to actively engage and are looking for more than just a space to talk. I provide structure, practical tools, and clear direction so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts impact your emotions and behaviors. We identify patterns that keep you stuck in anxiety, stress, or low mood, and work on shifting them so you can respond to life in a calmer, more balanced way.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help you stop getting pulled around by difficult thoughts and feelings. Instead of trying to eliminate discomfort, you learn how to respond to it differently and focus on actions that move you toward the life you want.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use this approach to help you identify what is already working and build from there. We focus on practical steps and realistic goals so you can start seeing progress sooner and feel more empowered in your life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I teach mindfulness tools that help you slow racing thoughts, reduce emotional overwhelm, and stay more present. These skills help you feel calmer, clearer, and more in control when stress shows up.
