Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor from the state of Florida. I received my Masters' Degree in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University. I have 20 years experience providing individual counseling towards adults and adolescents. I work with adults who have depression, anxiety, trauma and grief. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach with clients to help change negative and unrealistic thinking.
In our first session together, we will go over brief introductions. I would like us to both discuss how we view the counseling process. I will discuss limits of confidentiality then we can discuss issues that have bought you to counseling. Moving forward, we can create a plan to help you with counseling goals.
Having worked with adults and adolescents who are depressed and anxious, I have learned to remain calm and focused in sessions. It's critical for me to be at my personal best to help you. I feel my ability to build rapport with clients and express compassion and care makes the client feel accepted and validated. I feel I can quickly make you feel comfortable which starts the foundation for building success in therapy.
I love working with both adults who have anxiety and/or depression. Helping them realize their own potential is the reason I love working with others. I also love to work with individuals who have grief issues and those who need help in learning how to manage stress. Clients who hold negative thinking patterns are the ones who need the most time and effort. I feel like my favorite clients are ones who don't realize their own potential.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used CBT as a treatment modality for over fifteen years. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps people change unwanted negative thinking patterns into realistic positive thinking.
