Hi, I'm Aly! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor whose years of experience include time in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with children, teens, and adults struggling with a variety of different mental health and substance use disorders. I’m a licensed mental health counselor (License #MH25984) committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, cultural understanding, and evidence-based care. Originally from South Africa, my path has taken me across continents—from Europe to the U.S., where I served as a medic in the Army. These diverse life experiences inform my work and deepen my dedication to healing.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, rooted in the belief that therapy should feel safe, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs.
In our work together, I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and person-centered techniques to help you build insight, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful change.
Seeking support takes courage. Whether you're facing stress, life transitions, or struggles with self-esteem, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth and healing.
Let’s begin—reach out when you’re ready.

Welcome! There is no beauty in "settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." It is time to be courageous and see what might be causing you to settle. In the midst, I will use cognitive behavioral because I know it therapy works in actual clinical practice. While it may require hope, perseverance, and patience, you'll be glad you did!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Illinois, Colorado, and Florida. I received a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University (NU). I am trained with a systemic view of change, using empirically-based information that the profession and I know works. Additionally, I have a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling, focusing on Marriage and Family from Liberty University, obtaining clinical training in faith-based solutions. The convergence of ideologies from these two schools helps my aspirational core values of acceptance, appreciation, diversity and inclusion.
I'm a board-licensed therapist with extensive experience working with teens and adults. I believe that therapy is characterized by safety, trust, respect, and an emphasis on education and self-discovery. I have had the pleasure of conducting therapy with people of various ages and backgrounds. I have served in various clinical settings (e.g., inpatient psychiatric, outpatient counseling, addictions, etc.). My specializations include working with those who have experienced life-altering anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, and chronic stress.

Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida with a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma and PTSD, as well as mood and anxiety-related concerns. I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with individuals experiencing a range of mental health concerns. My approach to therapy is down-to-earth, interactive and collaborative. I draw from different therapeutic frameworks and tailor my approach to each client based on their developmental stage, individual needs, preferences and goals. Aside from private practice, I partner with several community-based nonprofit agencies serving children, adolescents and families involved in the foster care system, as well as survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California with a clinical focus in adult mental health. I am also a doctoral candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. I am passionate about this field because it allows me to work across both micro and macro levels at the intersection of behavioral and community healthcare, policy and advocacy. I value the ability to engage in this work through psychotherapy and direct practice, while also understanding and addressing the broader systems, policies, and communities that shape lives. My own lived experience plays a significant role in how I understand and approach this work.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, but more than that, I work with people who feel stuck in patterns they understand but still can’t seem to break. Maybe it shows up in relationships that feel familiar but painful, putting others first so you don’t lose them, or slipping back into old habits when emotions become overwhelming. You’re not broken. You are repeating a pattern that once kept you safe but now keeps you stuck.
I help clients who look strong and “put together” on the outside, but internally feel disconnected, unseen, or like they’re always fighting themselves. You might know why you do what you do because you’ve read the books, tried therapy before, told yourself you’d choose differently, and yet something still pulls you back.
My approach is real, honest, and compassionate. We won’t just talk about the surface problem. We’ll work with the deeper beliefs and emotional wiring underneath it. Together, we identify what keeps you abandoning yourself, and begin rebuilding from a place of self-trust, worthiness, and grounded clarity.

Hello, I’m so happy you’re here. My name is Nisha and I am a Psychotherapist who is fully licensed in mental health counseling. I am also the founder of Therapy Island, a global sanctuary dedicated to healing and growth. If you are a determined individual standing at the crossroads of change, grappling with feelings of dissatisfaction and unfulfillment in various aspects of your life, then you have come to the right place. I am here to serve as a guide to assist you as you navigate through life’s challenges.
There’s no denying that life isn’t always a walk in the park. While I’m sure you can relate to this as an adult, the same goes for kids, teens, and college-age students. Don’t forget, they’re going through this life without a manual, just as you are.
But life is also spectacularly beautiful.
Unfortunately, the trials faced during any phase of life can often dim that beauty and hold your child back from living the life they deserve. Anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can creep into anyone's life at any age. Mental health challenges can rob them of happiness, self-confidence, and life-fulfillment.
I get it. I’ve been in their shoes. As an experienced, understanding, and caring counselor for teens, children, and young adults. I can help support your child, whether they are elementary-school-aged, in the turbulent teenage years, or college-aged.
And, because I value being an advocate for kids and an ally for parents, I can support you, too.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I began my work in the field in 2007 and have been fully licensed since 2017. I consider myself to be an exceptionally empathetic and caring counselor who meets my clients where they're at. I will push my clients to experience emotions and to sit with them in ways they haven't before. However, I do this in a safe manner where we simply expand the limits each time and create safety in each session to fully allow the client to embrace the process. I strive to help my clients make sense of their life and the experiences they've had. I have great respect for each individual's journey and understand there is value in all of us. I strive for all of my clients to feel seen, heard, respected, accepted, and not judged. From the very first session, my clients feel heard through my exceptional empathic listening skills. I ask evocative questions to get to the heart of the matter and to push the client to think more in depth and perhaps even with a different perspective about struggles or experiences that have caused them strife.
It's often said that if "life gives you lemons, make lemonade". But what if you never receive the lemons, what if you have no pitcher, no sugar or water? My specialty is Trauma-informed care where I assist in helping to manage anger, self-injurious behaviors, anxiety and depression associated with negative experiences that life throws your way. I will work with you to recognize your trauma symptoms and help you to strategize and obtain the tools necessary to improve those symptoms.
I am an advocate for clients with limited resources and tools to be successful in life and will help to identify treatment goals and work with you to overcome barriers to achieving those goals.
We all need a little help sometimes when we feel as though we have fallen. Let's work together to find clarity and build resilience to overcome life's hurdles.

I believe what makes therapy successful is the relationship you form with your therapist. Therefore, my approach is to create a safe, and empowering environment for you to feel supported.
