Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker working in Florida. I received my MSW from the University of Maryland and I have been practicing for more than forty years. Some of my priorities are to assist clients that are grieving a loss triggered by death, the end of a relationship, a serious medical diagnosis or other major life changes. My goal is to accompany you on your journey providing you with much needed support as you find ways to identify and cope with your loss, finding peace and meaning in your life.
In our first session we will introduce ourselves and lay the foundation for our time and work together. We will delve into your main concerns and priorities that you would like to focus on in our sessions. We will begin to work on a plan to assist you with attaining your hopes and dreams.
I have learned that the most important strength of a good mental health provider is to truly be an excellent active listener first and foremost. I have honed my skills over the years as an expert in addressing grief and loss utilizing my past experience as a hospice social worker. I look forward to working with you to achieve the goals that are most important to you.
I particularly enjoy working with adults of all ages that are facing life challenges and adjustment struggles due to major changes or losses that have recently occurred. Many changes and losses can be unexpected and startling or even traumatic. I offer a safe space for you to discuss your feelings without worry of being judged or pressured to find a specific solution that does not fit your individual and personal needs.

Sue is extremely skilled in helping me to realize things that I need to work on. She is able to quickly and accurately access my issues - in other words, she asks the right questions that allow me to experience many "a-ha" moments. This is absolutely key to my progress. At the end of my appointments, I am usually left with much "food for thought", which helps me to continue my progress and pick up where I left off at my next appointment. I feel like we are a team working on my health.

Sue was true to her online profile. I felt very comfortable speaking with her. We need more time to get to know each other and I believe she has the right tools in her belt to help me work through some of my issues that have gotten to big to handle on my own. She didn't try to come up with answers or tell me what I needed to do nor did she seem bored like she heard it all before as I took her through my history. She was actively involved & listening to what I had to say, I appreciated that.

Sue makes me feel at ease. Talking with her I’ve come to realize she is one of my favorite therapist I’ve ever had. She’s a master of the craft and I’m thankful I found her. She’s awesome
The foundation of my practice is recognizing the potential and ability to grow in all people. I focus on the wholeness, positive characteristics and assets, and the well being of people rather than dysfunction. We will start "where you are" recognizing that your growth knows no bounds and that you have the ability realize your full potential. We will not be constrained by preconceived notions of value. This will be a "judgment free" zone.
I assist people to reframe negative thought patterns and to develop positive coping strategies to address their stressors. I use CBT to help people to stop negative cycles and make problems more manageable thereby focusing on improving how people feel.
