Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker working in Florida. I received my MSW from the University of Maryland and I have been practicing for more than thirty years. One of my priorities is to assist clients that are grieving a loss triggered by death, the end of a relationship, a serious medical diagnosis or other major life changes. My goal is to accompany you on your journey as you find ways to identify and cope with your loss, finding peace and meaning in your life.
In our first session we will introduce ourselves and lay the foundation for our time and work together. We will delve into your main concerns and priorities that you would like to focus on in our sessions. We will begin to work on a plan to assist you with attaining your hopes and dreams.
I have learned that the most important strength of a good mental health provider is to truly be an excellent active listener first and foremost. I have honed my skills over the years as an expert in addressing grief and loss including my past experience as a hospice social worker. I look forward to working with you to achieve the goals that are most important to you.
I particularly enjoy working with adults of all ages that are facing life challenges and adjustment struggles due to major changes or losses that have recently occurred.
The foundation of my practice is recognizing the potential and ability to grow in all people. I focus on the wholeness and well being of people rather than dysfunction.
I assist people to reframe negative thought patters and to develop positive coping strategies to address their stressors. I use CBT to help people to stop negative cycles and make problems more manageable thereby focusing on improving how people feel.
