My preference is speaking in terms that are comfortable for everyone including myself. I can be direct with a sprinkling of humor and an abundance of empathy. Attachment injuries in childhood lead to adult attachment styles, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma and all of their close friends. Working with these issues is my passion. I love working with children and foster children. Second career leads itself to years of life experience and knowledge. The relationship and trust is what is important to me for your (and my) journey. I learn from you and your experiences and welcome all thoughts and ideas.

Hi, I'm Paula Whidden, LMFT, LPCC. MDiv You may look like you're managing on the outside while feeling overwhelmed on the inside. Perhaps your mind won't slow down at night, anxiety keeps you on edge, or painful experiences from the past continue to affect your relationships, confidence, or sense of peace. You may feel exhausted from carrying burdens that no one else can see. I help teens and adults who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, stress, and life transitions find healing, hope, and practical tools for lasting change. Together, we'll work to understand what is keeping you stuck, process difficult experiences, and build skills that help you move forward with greater confidence and emotional freedom. My approach is warm, supportive, and goal-oriented. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, respected, and safe enough to explore both your struggles and your strengths. I strive to create an environment where clients can heal without judgment while learning new ways to respond to life's challenges. I am a trauma-focused Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with specialized training in EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Gottman Method couples work, Prepare/Enrich, and anxiety treatment. These approaches allow me to tailor therapy to each client's unique needs and goals. Over the years, I have helped clients who felt anxious, depressed, fearful, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck discover new ways of understanding themselves and relating to others. Clients often describe me as calm, compassionate, and encouraging. My goal is not simply to help you manage symptoms but to help you experience greater peace, resilience, and hope for the future. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you pursue healing and growth.

I am a holistic psychotherapist with openings for women in their 20s who feel deeply, tend to spin on thoughts, and experience overwhelm in a world that often tells them they are too much. Maybe you have always sensed things others seem to brush off. Maybe your relationships feel intense, your body carries tension you cannot explain, and you are exhausted from trying to hold it all together when no one taught you how to pause. My practice is rooted in a simple truth: your sensitivity is not a flaw to be fixed. It is an intelligent design, a navigation system that has been trying to protect you even when it felt overwhelming. Together, we gently widen the lens to see how your nervous system, beliefs, relationships, and history are woven together. Drawing from integrative mental health, trauma-informed somatic practices, and quantum biology, I help you translate what your body and emotions have been communicating all along. Through weekly sessions, we create a space where you do not have to perform or push through. You can learn to trust what you feel rather than override it. My own journey through anxiety, health challenges, and spiritual awakening informs my approach: I walk beside you not as an authority with answers, but as a fellow traveler who understands what it feels like to be told your reactions are too much. If you are longing for a place where your deep feelings make sense and where you can begin to inhabit your sensitivity as strength rather than a burden, I would be honored to explore whether we are a good fit. Sessions are offered via secure telehealth for residents of CA, MA, and AZ..

Hi, I'm James. I believe therapy should ultimately help create meaningful change. What change looks like is different for everyone. Whether you're beginning therapy for the first time, returning after time away, or realizing that something in your life isn't working the way you'd like, I would be glad to explore that with you. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor with 15 years of experience, I've had the privilege of working with people across a wide range of backgrounds, and levels of need. Much of my career has been spent serving and leading in community mental health, where I saw how our mental health can be shaped not only by our history, but by our families, communities, cultures, and the world around us. I am comfortable working with experiences that are often described as "high acuity," including significant trauma, depression, anxiety, and psychosis. I am equally interested in the quieter things that can make life harder than it needs to be, like the nagging doubts, persistent insecurities, difficult relationships, or old patterns that no longer serve you. Whatever brings you here, you don't need to have it figured out before we begin. My role is to listen, take your experiences seriously, and work alongside you to better understand what's happening and to facilitate change. I will honor your story and your pace while helping you move toward change that feels meaningful and authentic to you.

Hello, I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that). At this point, I changed professions and out of a desire to work with veterans, I returned to school, accomplishing all that was necessary to become a licensed counselor. I spent another career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically as a counselor in the Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center). I recently retired from the Vet Center and now I work part-time here with Grow Therapy. As a retired Marine senior staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) and disabled combat veteran myself, the Vet Center was the perfect job. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to combat veterans and provide counseling to survivors of military sexual trauma (MST). Vet Centers also provide group counseling, bereavement counseling and couples counseling when this is determined to be of support to the veteran. Readjustment counseling many times consists of treating/addressing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), I.e., anxiety, depression, exaggerated startle response, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, etc. Many veterans go on to work as first responders and working with many first responders as well as medical personal, has provided me with a great deal of additional experience.

It never ceases to amaze me just how often I have to try to convince others that they are worthy SIMPLY because they exist. This includes you! I want to know who communicated to you that you are not enough and why you value the opinion of said person(s); these types of harmful beliefs are learned, not innate. Let's unlearn them together. Most of my early clinical work has been with children and adolescents with focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, trauma and various behavioral and emotional issues. I have worked in high-intensity and high-crisis environments from school to hospital settings. I am passionate about working with and creating a safe space for folks who belong to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I understand that belonging to a marginalized/oppressed group can result in barriers to achieving and maintaining optimal mental health. I am a cis/het woman doing my best to provide care that is equitable and gender-affirming. I'm always learning and growing as an ally; you will always be safe here. I am also always looking at things through a trauma-informed lens. I'm a busy working parent who understands how hard it can be to do it all. I am currently pursuing a certification in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to be able to better support soon-to-be and new parents; this particular journey is no joke! I help clients who are struggling with stress, anxiety and/or depression, heal and become the best versions of themselves. I also have extensive experience in working with adults who are survivors of domestic violence (DV), intimate partner violence (IPT), and those who are suffering from symptoms of PTSD. I also enjoy working with families who may be experiencing triangulation and communication difficulties. My preferred clinical approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness meditation embedded in DBT, Narrative Therapy, and psycho-dynamic therapy. Finally, I view my clients from a holistic perspective so that I can understand what barriers may be restricting you from experiencing true happiness in life.

Over human history, people have mostly lived in close-knit communities. This has eroded with the advances in transportation and technology. Most people have lost much of the social support our forebearers enjoyed. Mental Health Professionals have taken on this role in their respective communities and are an excellent resource for you to realize your strengths and improve your well-being. When your car breaks down you take it to a mechanic. When your tooth hurts you see a dentist. When your mental health can use a “tune-up,” see a Mental Health Professional!

Is this the first time you thinking about having therapy? Let's talk about what therapy is and is not. Tell me your expectations. Therapy is in part, talking about how you are feeling whether you have depression, anxiety, or feel overwhelmed by your work, family or relationships or by all three . But that is just the beginning. My name is Judith Copeland, I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I want to help you achieve the positive changes would you like to see in your life. Do you feel you cannot cope, have no self-esteem or don’t even know what will make you happy? Together we will uncover your strengths and you will learn the skills you need to better manage your emotions. I use several treatment methods including, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Integrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to tailor your care to your specific needs. We will explore what is holding you back from achieving your goals and help you heal from past traumas. You will learn how your negative beliefs influence your mood and get in the way of your happiness. Often, we forget that everything is connected. Mind, Body, and Spirit. We need to take care of ourselves physically, psychologically, and spiritually. We often don’t really understand how deeply connected they are to our well-being. I will help you learn that self-care is just as important and or even more important as everything else you do. We have within ourselves the ability to create the life we want and become the person we want to be. I would like to support you on this journey and look forward to meeting you.

Naragsakak nga makita ka! As a first-generation Filipina American and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), I bring both professional expertise and a deep appreciation for the diverse experiences that shape each person's story. I believe that meaningful therapy begins with listening. I take the time to understand each client's current concerns while also exploring the experiences and history that have shaped their life. By gaining a deeper understanding of both the present and the past, I can better recognize patterns, strengths, and challenges that influence overall well-being. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they share their experiences at their own pace. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work to understand the whole person, recognizing that each individual's story is unique. Through thoughtful listening and curiosity, I partner with clients to identify meaningful goals, build insight, and develop practical strategies that support lasting growth and positive change. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, understood, and equipped to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
