Hi there, I'm Tracie! Welcome and Thank you for visiting me. My name is Tracie Lee Cohen, I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, in California (LMFT 52915.) I received my Masters from the University of San FranciscoI in 2005. Currently, I am working statewide via telehealth. I'm experienced working in a variety of venues, including but not limited to substance abuse/recovery; mood disorders; improving our self-esteem; domestic violence/ anger management.
I'll briefly introduce myself and my background. We'll review the legal documentation you filled out prior to our first visit and what's required of me legally as your therapist. Then we'll dive into the challenges you're facing and a plan on finding solutions, for you to work through in follow-up sessions. Lots of questions and answers, all that will get me to know you!
Appropriate humor, always, when and where possible. It is often diificult to review ourselves and our part in these difficulties, finding our "authentic selves." Different perspectives can be challenging and change can be difficult and positive for growth.
I work with individuals, young adults 18 years and older. Life can be turbulent in relationships, with ourselves, with families, friends and employment. Self-care is often the last thing we work on and the most important skill in our life.
