Hi, I'm Trish Mullen, a licensed professional counselor with over 28 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, and life transitions by reconnecting with their sense of self. I graduated from VCU Health in 1997 with a Masters Degree in Rehab Counseling. I utilize the Integrative Approach to therapy, including EMDR, parts work, DBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing to guide therapy in a way that is both effective and empowering. I bring over two decades of clinical experience, along with personal insight shaped by my own growth work. My education and clinical training prepared me to treat anxiety, trauma, family of origin work, and grief with a strong evidenced-based foundation. At the same time, I've done my own growth work to face challenges, different from yours, and to grow through them, recognizing how hard and courageous this process can be. My growth work allows me to show up with deep empathy, steady grounded presence, and a belief in your capacity for meaningful change. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, our fur babies, playing golf, pickleball, seeing live music and rooting for my favorite teams.

Hey there! I’m Sacha, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in Virginia. I provide a compassionate, direct, and collaborative approach to therapy, where you can safely explore challenges while building tools for meaningful, lasting change. My goal is for you to feel more confident, empowered, and understood throughout our work together. I have experience in substance use settings and trauma-informed care, and I support clients navigating stress, trauma, mood challenges, and substance use. My approach is person-centered and tailored to you—this might look like building insight, strengthening coping tools, or helping you feel more grounded and stable day to day. EMDR supports your brain and body in processing experiences that may still feel present, activated, or unresolved. Rather than staying only in the story of what you’ve been through, EMDR helps create space for your system to actually reprocess and shift how those experiences are held.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW) based in Michigan, but I also serve individuals in Virginia. I received my Masters from Widener University in 2021. I have worked in many different settings, providing mental health treatment to individuals. Some of these settings are inpatient behavioral health units, outpatient group therapy programs, and community-based settings. I have a wide array of treatment models that I have learned over the years, utilizing these with my clients to help them explore their thoughts and feelings while providing a healing environment. I now provide individual therapy to adults, adolescents and children. I also possess a Bachelor in Recreational Therapy from Central Michigan University, earned in 2009. I worked as a Recreational Therapist for over 15 years, working with children with developmental disabilities in the community, and then transitioned to working with adults and children's in various mental health settings. I continue to encourage a healthy leisure lifestyle with my clients, discussing the importance of self-care, self-esteem and cultivating self-worth. Having fun and finding the joy in life is a part of healing from a mental health crisis. If the times on my schedule don't work for you, please make an appointment and message me with a better time and/or day and I can change it based on my availability. I am able to see clients during the day outside of what my calendar availability shows but on a limited schedule. I always try to be as flexible as I can to meet the needs of my clients. :-) If you need same day appointment, I always try to accommodate for my clients. No show policy: All I ask is to be communicated with, even last minute. I know life can happen pretty quickly but without any communication, it is a $100 cancellation fee.

Clients shouldn't have to be in therapy forever! Together, we'll co-create a balanced approach combining active listening with practical techniques, helping you reclaim your narrative and overcome obstacles. My clinical and holistic approach aims for deeper alignment and fulfillment—think more water, less soda. As an LCSW, I'm trained in EMDR, certified in Theta Healing, Reiki, Transformational Life Coaching, and Therapeutic Touch, and am a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space to explore your wants, needs, and emotions. You know yourself best, and our work is about uncovering your truths rather than imposing mine. Together, we'll determine the tools and approaches that best suit your needs, ensuring you feel heard, validated, and empowered. The goal is to help you confidently manage challenges independently over time. We'll walk side-by-side, with you gradually taking the lead and me offering steady support. If you have pressing concerns, those always take precedence. Our sessions focus on understanding HOW you think, not just WHAT you think, exploring both conscious and unconscious beliefs and emotions. You'll leave with clear, actionable steps, such as mindfulness exercises, creative writing prompts, meditation, and breathwork techniques to regulate emotions and reclaim your narrative. Therapy isn't about fixing what's "broken" but enhancing alignment and fulfillment while overcoming obstacles. By focusing on your goals and measuring progress, we can eliminate stigma, leaving shame behind and empowering you toward greater self-awareness and fulfillment.

I’m a therapist who works with teens (13–17) and adults (18+) who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in their heads, or just tired of holding everything together on their own. A lot of the people I work with look like they’re doing “fine” on the outside, but inside they’re dealing with anxiety, stress, low mood, or feeling like they’re falling behind in school, work, relationships, or life in general. In therapy, I offer a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or pretend you’re okay. Together, we focus on making sense of what you’re feeling, finding practical ways to cope, and helping you feel more grounded and in control of your day-to-day life. The goal is simple: to help you feel more like yourself again, with tools that actually fit your real life.

Hi- I’m Heather! I’m a licensed clinical social worker offering telehealth therapy in the state of Virginia. One of my greatest professional passions is introducing clients to EMDR therapy! I am an EMDR trained therapist working toward obtaining EMDR certification and am actively accepting new clients who are interested in exploring EMDR.
If you’ve tried talk therapy before and found that you’ve hit a wall, you’re not alone. Talk therapy may help us gain new insights into our patterns of behavior or relationship dynamics, but we often still have trouble changing the way we respond to particular triggers. Despite years of talk therapy, many of us find that there is still an unbridgeable gap between what our rational thinking brain knows and our felt sense of truth.

Do you cognitively believe that you are not a bad/unworthy/unloved person but deep in your body you cannot shake the sense that these core beliefs are true? EMDR can help resolve this disconnect.

Talk therapy work is done in the left hemisphere of the brain (this is the part of the brain where logical, rational thought occurs). But trauma is stored in the RIGHT hemisphere of the brain and the limbic system. Language does not easily address memories or beliefs stored in this part of the body and you may stay stuck living with maladaptive core beliefs and reliving traumatic memories until you can incorporate your RIGHT side of your brain in therapy. EMDR is one way of doing this. EMDR operates under the theory that the brain has a natural system in place to move toward adaptive resolution. Trauma blocks this system preventing us from fully processing our memories. EMDR reactivates this system, allowing our brain to fully integrate trauma so we can be free to live life on our own terms.

Your brain is basically that one friend who means well but gives terrible advice. It jumps to conclusions, expects the worst, overthinks everything, and somehow expects you to believe every word it says. The good news? You don't have to let it call the shots. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia who works with adults (18+) navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, stress, grief, and life transitions. I also specialize in working with active-duty military, veterans, and first responders, and in the unique demands of their careers. My style is warm, honest, interactive, and a little sarcastic when the moment calls for it. I'll listen without judgment, but I won't just nod along. I'll challenge you, teach you, and give you practical tools you can actually use. I believe therapy should help you understand your mind, build confidence, and leave you with the skills to manage life long after our work together ends. I love making psychology make sense. My goal is to take complex concepts, break them down into practical, relatable ideas, and help you become the expert on your own mind. If you're ready for real conversations, a few laughs, and meaningful change, I'd love to help.

Welcome! I'm Giovonni- a poet, writer, licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and certified OCD and Anxiety specialist serving residents in DC, MD, and VA. As a multicultural lesbian, I am dedicated to creating safe and affirming spaces for healing within communities of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. If you aren't experiencing anxiety or OCD, I would not be the right clinician for you. Allow me to visually paint a picture for you of what it's like to experience anxiety or OCD using a poem. Anxiety: There is a hum beneath everything I do. Restless. On edge. My mind scanning for threats that probably aren't there probably. I snap. I tense. I lie awake untangling the same worry I untangled last night. I smile fine. I function...barely. I am fine. The hum disagrees. Six months of this. Maybe more. The body keeps the score even when I pretend it doesn't. The Loop (OCD): Did I lock it? I locked it. But did I really? The thought arrives like a verdict intrusive, unwanted, wearing my voice. So I check. I count. I do it again and again until again feels safe. It never feels safe. Not contamination, not the door, not the stove it's the uncertainty I cannot hold. The ritual buys me sixty seconds of quiet before the loop loads again. I am not my thoughts. But they haven't learned that yet.

I provide anxiety and trauma treatment, helping adults breakthrough the cycle of worry and trauma to live a more present and fulfilled life. To help you reach your goals, I use a two-fold approach by teaching you tools to help cope with everyday stressors and manage the intensity of emotions while exploring past experiences which have/are impacting the way you currently feel/behave. As a therapist, I strongly believe in exploring past hurts and experiences to help you better understand what led you to this point and assist in treating the root causes of the anxiety. I aim to keep sessions goal oriented and structured to assist individuals in meeting their goals. I earned my master’s degree from Lynchburg College in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have eight years of experience in the mental health field and have worked in settings to include substance use clinics, inpatient mental health settings, and corrections facilities throughout my time in the mental health field. I have training in and utilize evidence-based approaches to include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR).

I'm Brad Justice, an independently licensed therapist with over a decade of experience working with adults. My style is direct and practical. I won't just nod and reflect your words back at you. We'll dig into what's actually driving the patterns, figure out what needs to change, and build real tools you can use outside of our sessions. I specialize in anxiety, burnout, and the kind of exhaustion that doesn't show up on the outside. I also have deep professional experience with grief, caregiver burnout, and life transitions tied to aging, whether you're navigating your own or carrying someone else's. I'm a proud affirming provider for LGBTQIA+ clients and bring both clinical training and genuine investment to that work. Therapy with me isn't about venting indefinitely. It's about understanding yourself clearly enough to move differently. If you're ready for honest, focused work and done with just managing rather than actually living, let's talk.

I’m a therapist who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, and life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and high-functioning, yet find themselves stuck in cycles of overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or patterns in relationships that don’t feel fulfilling. You may understand why you do what you do, but still feel unsure how to change it. In our work together, I focus on helping you connect the dots between your past experiences, current patterns, and the goals you have for your life. Through a collaborative and supportive process, we build both insight and practical tools so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control. Over time, this work often leads to healthier relationships, improved emotional balance, and a stronger sense of self.

I live in the Hampton Roads section of Virginia with my son and our dogs. I enjoy spending time at the beach or in the water somewhere, hiking, reading, and traveling. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years and have worked in the field of mental health both, in-patient and out-patient, for over 25 years. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)and Rational Emotive (RET) therapies to guide patients toward a greater understanding of themselves with the goal of emotional equilibrium or “balance.” The large military presence in Hampton Roads has allowed me to work with active-duty personnel and their families. I have successfully treated patients with depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, and trauma histories.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
