In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an information-gathering session, where I'll ask you to share a little about yourself and what brings you into therapy. In our first session, we will embark on a meaningful journey of discovery. I'll invite you to share your story and the reasons that led you to seek therapy. We'll discuss your therapy goals and develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. This collaborative process will set the foundation for your growth and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field and an LPC license obtained in 2011, I am committed to creating a safe and supportive telehealth environment where you can truly thrive. My nonjudgmental approach fosters open communication and trust, allowing you to explore your journey freely. I am passionate about witnessing the incredible transformations that occur when individuals embrace their potential and become the best versions of themselves. Let’s embark on this transformative journey together!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

In today's world, couples often encounter significant relationship challenges. While I don't provide couples therapy, I specialize in helping individuals who are struggling with various aspects of their relationships. I take great satisfaction in empowering my clients to communicate their desires and needs effectively, enabling them to make informed decisions about their relationships. Anxiety is an experience that many people face, often manifesting as intrusive thoughts or negative self-talk that can significantly disrupt happiness and productivity. I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other effective strategies to help you uncover the root causes of your anxiety and negative thought patterns. Together, we will create a customized plan that equips you to manage anxiety and cultivate a more positive mindset. I have a strong commitment to helping college students as they navigate the complexities of campus life, including friendships, relationships, academic challenges, and mental health concerns. Let's work together to enhance your well-being and build a fulfilling life. I find particular joy in working with Christians, providing support that harmonizes talk therapy with faith-based interventions. Whether you're navigating mental health or relationship issues, we'll work on a plan together to help you live a more fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I allow the client to tell me what they need. If they ask, I'll pray with them. If they have questions about Christianity, I'm willing to answer them. If they ask for Bible verses that relate to what they're going through, I'll help them locate them. At no point do I ever force religion upon anyone. I allow them to take the lead.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts influence feelings, which influence behavior. Unhealthy thought patterns can lead to anxiety and depression. We use CBT techniques to reduce depression and anxiety and increase sleep and coping skills. In addition, CBT can be used for many mental health issues, such as helping with intrusive thoughts and overcoming social anxiety and irrational fears.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help the client understand that it's okay to experience difficult thoughts and emotions. The goal is to accept them as being part of being human and to learn to match their behavior with their values.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients realize their strengths and resources, capitalizing on them to bring about a solution to their problem or the change they seek in their life.
