Christian Counseling

Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Bibliotherapy, and Trauma Informed Care, together we process your needs through the lens of Kingdom Living utilizing the Holy Bible as God's instructions before leaving Earth.

Narrative

Your story is your truth. Let's learn how trauma can negatively influence the narrative you tell yourself. Through narrative therapy, and influenced by your journal writing, we will discuss reality versus a negative lens of the information you have scripted in your life.By identifying and challenging problem-saturated stories, individuals can create alternative, empowering narratives that reflect their values, strengths, and goals. Narrative Therapy often involves externalizing problems, exploring unique outcomes, and fostering a sense of agency and hope. It is particularly effective in addressing issues related to identity, trauma, and interpersonal relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Restructuring involves identifying irrational or unhelpful thoughts and replacing them with rational, constructive ones. This process includes Identifying cognitive distortions (e.g., catastrophizing, overgeneralization) and Challenging negative thoughts with evidence Developing alternative, and balanced thoughts.

Reality Therapy

Reality Therapy is an Approach to Empowering Choice and Responsibility. Grounded in choice theory, which emphasizes personal responsibility and the power of making choices to improve one's life. This therapy is focused on the present and future rather than delving deeply into past experiences. It is built on the principle that individuals can control their actions, thoughts, and behaviors, even if they cannot change external circumstances.

Trauma Informed Care

As a trauma expert for over 30 years, we will discuss how trauma has influenced your development and identity. The trauma-informed therapy model emphasizes understanding and addressing the impact of trauma on an individual's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It is a holistic approach that seeks to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for clients, recognizing the pervasive effects of trauma and its influence on behavior and functioning. We will utilize the Eight Domains of Wellness as a guide to this discussion.
