New clients continue care with this provider

Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming. Regardless of where you are in your search, finding someone you trust and can be vulnerable with, someone who meets your needs is crucial. A key value for me as a therapist is building a strong connection with my clients so they can feel safe, engage in relationships, share and tolerate emotional pain, and ultimately process and heal. I was born and raised in New York City and moved to Los Angeles six years ago to earn my Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in EMDR, I utilize a depth-oriented approach grounded in Trauma-Informed Care, supported by mindfulness, self-compassion, and accountability. I bring authenticity, directness, and humor to humanize and normalize the therapeutic process. I am trained in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic experiencing. Through gentle challenges, connection, and insight, I create a space for reflection, self-awareness, and healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will invite you to share your story and explain what has brought you to therapy in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you. We will also discuss important topics such as policies and procedures, as well as your short-term and long-term goals for therapy. Additionally, we’ll explore your preferred therapeutic approach. How do you learn best and receive feedback? For instance, do you prefer direct and blunt communication, worksheets, or open-ended questions? You will also have the chance to ask me questions about myself and my approach, which will help you decide if I am the right fit for your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My primary focus is your emotional and physical safety. I am well-versed in Trauma-Informed Care and strive to integrate consent wherever possible. I believe that the body keeps the score, and to foster a healthy relationship with ourselves, we must also nurture our relationship with every aspect of our bodies and minds. I emphasize learning to be comfortable with discomfort and how to thrive in an imperfect, confusing world. I will be honest about the realities of the work ahead; I don’t sugarcoat things. If something is going to be hard, frustrating, or scary, I will tell you. These experiences, while challenging, are often necessary for healing. I became a therapist after navigating my own mental health struggles, including impulsivity and relationship trauma. I understand what it feels like to be on the couch. While I may challenge you, I will never ask you to do something I wouldn’t be willing to do myself.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with clients in the contemplation stage of change. They recognize challenges in their lives but are uncertain about seeking help or whether therapy will actually "help" them.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have been an EMDR provider for almost three years, working in both treatment centers and private practice. EMDR is one of the most effective and powerful trauma therapies available today. It has helped dozens of clients alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Once we establish rapport, we will use EMDR to reprocess your traumatic memories and regulate your nervous system, connecting the mind and body. The goal of EMDR is to help you recognize, "Yes, that was a traumatic event, but I am safe and okay now."

Somatic

I have been using somatic therapy in my practice for the past four years, including my training in dance/movement therapy. Our bodies store emotions, memories, and trauma. Somatic therapy helps heal unresolved trauma and emotional distress by utilizing mind-body connection techniques. Clients have shared that learning how to communicate with their bodies has improved their overall well-being. We will use somatic therapy to enhance your mind-body connection, which will help you understand, process, and manage your emotions more effectively.

Psychoeducation

I have been using psychoeducation in my therapeutic work with groups, couples, and individual clients for the past six years. When clients receive clear information about their mental health disorders, they gain a better understanding of their symptoms and how to manage them. This knowledge also helps reduce internalized stigma and judgments. Together, we will use this information to create individualized treatment goals and normalize the therapeutic process.
