First off, congratulations on taking the steps to get here. Welcome! Navigating life can be hard at times, and our problems can seem overwhelming when we are facing them alone. We can be mired down in negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors, or caught in a repetitive unhealthy coping loop. These can make it difficult to manage our daily lives and relationships. Anxiety, depression, past trauma, addiction and inadequate sleep can further impede our ability to find balance and a sense of peace. My goal, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with over 8 years of experience, is to provide you with a place to be heard and validated. This is your place to work through your problems and find solutions or perhaps meet a goal that has seemed out of reach for some time. I look forward to meeting you and helping you move forward.
In our first session, I’m all ears. This is your chance to share what you’re going through and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This is also your time to ask me any questions you may have about therapy, my practice, and what to expect. If you feel we’re a good match by the end of this session, we will take a look at your treatment plan in our next meeting. My initial and follow-up sessions are 55 minutes long.
Above all, as a therapist, my primary role is to actively listen to you. That’s where my expertise lies. I’m here to provide support and equip you with practical tools to navigate through your challenges. I also acknowledge your inherent strengths, which we’ll leverage throughout our journey. Together, we’ll address your stressors, troubling thoughts, and concerns; overcoming any obstacles along the way. Ultimately, the goal is for you to experience a sense of well-being. You can feel better!
I’ve found Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be effective for treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and anger management. It’s also helpful for addressing relationship and family conflict, burnout, organizational challenges, and job-related issues. CBT focuses on the present and problem-solving, making it a versatile approach for various mental health concerns. Seeking professional guidance is essential, and CBT can be a valuable tool in improving mental well-being.
Thinking ahead, finding solutions, and making a plan of action is a practical way to tackle problems. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy empowers clients to choose what works best for them, leading to positive changes in their lives.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is effective for treating depression, addiction, OCD, and anxiety reduction. It’s a valuable alternative to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), especially for clients dealing with grief, persistent anxiety, and childhood trauma. ACT emphasizes mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based actions to help individuals lead more fulfilling lives.
