I am a queer, trans, and polyamorous therapist with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. My journey began in 1992, and since then, I have worked across the clinical spectrum—from high-acuity crisis assessment in emergency departments to specialized non-profits serving the LGBTQIA+ and HIV communities.
My practice is rooted in Feminist Psychotherapy, which means I view mental health through the lens of power distribution and systemic impact. I blend this with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients move toward a value-driven life. I provide a space where you don't have to "translate" your life or identity. As a member of the queer, trans, and poly communities, I offer the ease of lived experience. For my neuro-divergent clients, I offer 30+ years of dedicated, affirming clinical specialization. My goal is to let you stop being "the teacher" so you can finally just be the client.

There is a way out. Those who come to see me are often at a crossroads, frustrated at how they are trying to deal with problems and seeking workable strategies and solutions to cope. Therapy is meant to be a space to feel welcome to talk about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are problematic. Understanding unhealthy behaviors, frustrations with life, and/or unsuccessful efforts to cope can help reveal the obstacles that may block your path to growth and desired outcomes.
Why do we explore? So you can live a life YOU want to live!

Welcome, it takes motivation and courage to reach out for assistance with life's challenges; I appreciate you taking time out of your day to review my profile. From my 15+ years in the field of Social Work I strongly believe that Talk Therapy can have an overwhelmingly positive impact upon various mental health conditions, cognitions and coping skills. Having an early love of books, and social justice inspired me to eventually enter the field of Social Work. I received my BA from Tufts University and my MSW from The University of Washington.
Hi, I’m Dr. Ebony B. I’m a licensed therapist, healing guide, and space-holder for people who are tired of being the strong one. If you’ve been carrying the weight of emotional pain, burnout, or the pressure to keep showing up for everyone else, this is your space to put it all down and just be.
I work with Black women, caregivers, and high-achieving professionals who often feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way. Many of my clients seem to have it all together on the outside but feel exhausted inside. You don’t have to keep holding it in or pretending to be okay. You deserve a space to be real, to rest, and to heal.
In our work together, we’ll move at your pace. I help clients understand what they’re feeling, where those emotions come from, and how to care for themselves with more compassion and clarity. We talk through patterns, explore your past, build boundaries, and learn new ways to cope that actually feel good to you. You’ll feel supported, not judged.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. We’ll laugh sometimes, reflect often, and create room for honesty, softness, and growth. I honor your lived experience and believe in healing that respects your identity, your story, and your values.
You don’t have to do this alone. If you’re ready to feel more like yourself again, I would be honored to walk with you.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate, I believe that mental health care is essential for creating balance, resilience, and well-being. Reaching out for support can be a difficult first step, and I want to recognize the courage it takes to begin this journey. I have extensive experience working with adults of all backgrounds, supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, homelessness, and substance use.
If you're struggling with grief, life changes, the state of the world, or big existential questions, I may be a good fit for you. I currently keep a very small practice of exclusively telehealth adult clientele primarily dealing with grief, life transitions, the stresses of daily life in our changing world, OCD and phobias, and navigating issues related to identity, belongingness, and a sense of life meaning and purpose.
I also love working with folks looking for relief from OCD or phobias using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy. Maybe you've tried talk therapies with little or no progress. ERP is a first-line, evidence-based treatment for OCD and phobias with better outcomes than other treatment modalities or meds alone. It's hard work, but it's worth it to get your life back.
I have extensive experience in serving adults, adolescents, children, and families by providing mental health counseling, domestic violence prevention, substance use prevention, addiction recovery, career counseling, family support, career coaching and education. I enjoy live theater productions, watching classic movies, reading biographies, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with family. I will look forward to working with you soon.
I have over 10 years of experience as a mental health therapist. I primarily work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and family or relationship difficulties. Many clients seek treatment because they feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to manage the challenges they’re facing.
My approach is structured and evidence‑based. I focus on helping you understand the factors contributing to your symptoms and developing clear, practical strategies for change. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness‑based interventions to support emotional regulation, improve coping skills, and build healthier behavioral patterns.
Accountability is an important part of the work we do together. I will support you, but I will also provide direct feedback and encourage consistent follow‑through on the changes you identify as important. Progress requires active participation, and I work best with clients who are ready to take responsibility for implementing new skills and strategies between sessions.
My Style is:
Straightforward – Honest and clear, but always respectful.
Practical – Tools that work in everyday life, not just theory.
Explorative – Space to reflect deeply in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Encouraging – Support that helps you feel capable, validated, and motivated to change.
Accountability-focused – Growth comes from owning your choices and committing to real change.
This works well if you are willing to:
• Look at your own patterns and find areas for growth and change
• Practice new skills between our sessions and create a plan for change
• Stay open to feedback, exploration, and trying approaches that fit your unique needs
I am an LPC with a PhD in psychology from Walden University. I have been counseling for almost 20 years. Before that, I was a teacher working with students with emotional concerns and their families. I know that it can be very difficult to take the first step to seek counseling. My intent the moment you “walk through the door” is for you to feel safe, cared for, listened to, and above all, understood. I am not here to judge or condemn. We all have our stuff. Life gets messy. Life can be complicated. I grew up in a Christian family riddled with dysfunction; alcoholism, addiction, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, suicidal ideation, and chronic medical issues. I have also worked in the educational sector with children with behavior issues, ADHD, ODD, OCD, attachment disorder, autism, as well as anxiety and depression. I am a people person. I am empathetic, I listen, I am real, and I can help.
I help empower those struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship and self-worth issues, life transitions, disordered eating & trauma using a variety of therapies. I'm bilingual and come from a refugee/immigrant background. I work pride myself in practicing compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approaches to help you feel seen and heard wherever you are in your journey. You are welcome to show up ready and be who you are.

My approach is structured, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. I focus on helping teens build emotional regulation skills, healthy routines, and coping strategies that support stability at home and school, while also supporting caregivers in understanding and responding to their teen’s needs consistently

From my journey, I can personally attest to the power of support, in its many forms. This support goes beyond clients I service but also to their families and communities. I believe that mental wellness isn’t just individualistic; but includes the ecosystem surrounding the person. My praxis acknowledges and aims to support the village needed by all.
I’m also passionate about the transformative impact of safe and brave spaces for those who often experience exclusion. My career has afforded me opportunities to build trust with LGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and Refugee communities across the nation. Hi! My name is Ruthie. I am from the great state of Texas (Texans are always proud of being from Texas for some reason!). I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the University of Mobile with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I approach our time together with integrating Christian, biblically, faith-based principles along with clinical treatment approaches and techniques tailored for you. I'm a narrative therapist at heart, which means we all have a story of our lives, and in the sharing of our story, we discover possible meaning, insights, healing, and growth. It is my goal to create an inviting, warm, safe place for you to share that story, and we can discover together how the Lord wants to bring healing and hope.
It is my hope that people will take away from sessions feeling supported, cared for, listened to, not alone, comforted, encouraged, and with a spark of faith that it is ok to have the courage to hope again.
I view my work as a therapist through a multicultural lens, and I customize my approach depending on the unique needs of every individual I work with. Many people have told me they’ve been frustrated by therapists in the past who sat quietly and provided very little feedback. In response, I’ve developed a forthright, solutions-oriented style of engaging with my clients that encourages them to set goals for themselves and empowers them to work toward them. I also have experience working with clients who prefer a softer, less structured approach, so I can customize the therapy experience to each person.
I was born in Managua, Nicaragua but moved to the United States at a young age. I can say that I’ve learned to appreciate, value, and grow from every experience given in life. Good or bad experiences can potentially shape who we are. They can impact our view and perspective about life, and make us stronger to overcome challenges we face throughout our journey or disable us temporarily, making the journey less enjoyable and pleasing.
I always had a strong desire to help others. I found in Psychology and Therapy a good option to provide others the needed tools to move forward, so they can find within them the strength to push toward a better and more productive lifestyle. I view therapy as a safe place to explore relationships, whether those relationships are with people (family, co-workers, partner) or things (food, money, alcohol). I also feel an important part of therapy is addressing the social, economic, and cultural influences on a person.

This identity crisis shows up in subtle ways - the anxiety that greets you before meetings, the exhaustion from maintaining the "strong Black woman" image, the longing for relationships where you can finally be real.
I want you to know that transformation is possible. That having more alignment and authenticity in the way you show up is possible. In our work together, we'll move beyond just understanding why you code-switch or people-please and help your system find its way back to your truth using Internal Family Systems therapy.
Imagine walking into any room fully grounded in who you are. Picture making decisions from your core self, not from old wounds. It's time to transform your relationship with yourself - to heal those outdated identities and create a life that truly feels like yours.
